This is my first time crocheting with an acrylic set and there is a huge difference between the acrylics and aluminum hooks. The acrylics tend to "stick" between stitches, but no so much that it makes the task more difficult. I simply just run my fingers through my Rusk shine hair product when needed. Overall, I am pleased with this product; crochet hooks are very expensive when buying in-store.

I used several of these hooks. They work very well with thick yarn. I made several cowls & they came out nice. The right

hook makes a difference when crocheting. A bigger hook is more comfortable & does a better job when using thick yarn.

And pretty colors also!! I would recommend this product.

I'm a college student, so I wanted to get something cheap, small, and does the job.

This little guy does it.

At first, it was really temperamental. The thread would snap, or the stitches were too loose. But I played around with the tension and was able to get a decent stitch. You just have to adjust the tension depending on what type of material you are using. It's a very basic set up, with two speeds and no reverse. Good for small projects, hemming, repairing. But by no means can it replace a large machine. The needle's not very sturdy, so I wouldn't use it for thick fabrics like denim. And the stitch isn't very tight/secure. And the biggest downside is how loud the little machine gets!

It comes with the DC Adapter and a foot pedal, which most mini sewing machines don't.

Overall, I'm satisfied with this purchase. Basically, you get what you paid for.

We received this little sewing machine yesterday, and I'm delighted with it! I was able to quickly mend a damaged quilt and it sewed through all of the layers without trouble.

The design is just like a large machine, with the same thread path, and with care, it sews a simple straight stitch just fine! If the thread breaks, check the tension, and make sure the presser foot is down when you are sewing, just like on a large machine. It has features that I didn't expect, such as the ability to take full size spools of thread, as well as bobbins, and it even has a bobbin winder! It runs on either 4 AA batteries or an included DC adapter. Since it's made of plastic, and not as sturdy as my full sized machine, I plan to treat it with extra care so it will last.

Excellent for quick mending.

I did have the string breaking problem at first. After checking the tension, I realized I was threading the needle from the wrong side. Since then, this tiny sewing machine has run perfectly. This machine isn't meant for "real adult heavy sewing". It's perfect for small jobs on fabric that isn't too heavy. I got it for my 7 year old daughter and she used it this morning for the first time. In less than 2 hours, she'd cut out and sewn a darling little tote bag. I drew chalk lines for where to cut on the fabric for her, and sewed the handles to the top after she'd sewn the handle seams. And, to attach the handles, it meant sewing through 7 layers of fabric and it did that without a whimper!

I even changed the thread with no problem before we started, using a regular size spool, so the thread would match the fabric.

I bought this machine as I have been teaching my Grand daughters to sew and wanted something that wasn't as intimidating as my machine. The first on to use it was the three year old (of course I helped). She made her first pillow and it was a wonderful experience. The slow fast button makes it easier for the little ones so whether it be the three year old or the 7 and 8 year old. All can create and have a great experience white doing so.

This is fantastic stuff. I don't use it for it's intended purpose though. Ever wanted a deadbolt catch that won't split if someone tries to kick it in? This is how you do it, hollow out the area between the door frame & the wood of the adjoining stud, make sure it's bigger than what the deadbolt will be, once it hardens it's very difficult to make the opening larger. Mix together this putty & fill the hole with it. I did it using a pre-made deadbolt catch, like a metal hole with 4" screws to put it into the wall. Mixed up this putty, let it start to harden, then set the metal frame into the putty, put the long screws in & let it harden. You can not break the deadbolt trhough the door frame one this sets up!

It's also terrific for any fiberglass repairs like a fiberglass sink or tub, use tiny amounts to fill the cracks as it's not easily sanded once it's set.

This product is easy to mix and apply (you really do only have about 5 min of work time). Sanding smooth is no problem. The only problem I have here is that there is only a little bit of it. The 4 ounces is total for the two components mixed together. The paper cups and popsicle sticks are a waste of time and a waste of product if you use them.

I loved the personalized necklace that i received for my baby-shower, and really wanted to try to make my own! After reading several how-to blogs and researching different sets I didn't feel ready to spend $250 on set sold by one of the big retailers. I purchased this one and although it is extremely difficult to align all of the letters I feel like its a good deal for the price.

The more expensive sets have the letters placed on the stamp according to where it would generally be placed when writing: the lower case y is not center in the middle of the stamp it is lower on the stamp. The lower case f would be placed higher on the stamp. But this stamp set has all of the stamp centered in the middle so the artist will need to compensate for the placement.

Also, this set is 2mm, which is TINY! The majority of the hand stamped jewelery that's listed on ebay and etsy is between 3mm and 5mm. IF you are planning on oxidizing your items then this size is fine.

One great thing about these is that the slant of each letter is right on! IF you would like to start selling hand stamped jewelry, i would recommend purchasing a more expensive set, if you are just wanting to dabble around with hand stamping this would be the set for you!

While the quality of this item is fine, the font and size of the letters makes many of the letters (specifically the "e") illegible. I would not recommend this product.

I'm being asked to rate this as a toy; not sure why. So as a toy I rated it 5 stars. Now for the real review: I thought the oil paint colors included would be the basic ones since they are not listed in the description. Upon receipt I found the three NOT included were white, black, and blue, three I absolutely require. So be aware of what you are receiving before ordering. The six colors included are: Cadmium Yellow Pale Hue, Cadmium Red Deep Hue, French Ultramarine (purple), Viridian Hue (light green), Yellow Ochre, and Burnt Umbre (brown). I've since ordered paints that included the primary colors everyone uses. The rest of the set is as expected--plastic palette, 3 canvas boards, wood easel, etc, as pictured. Good (almost) basic set for the price.

This set does not include everything you need to try oil painting as it may suggest. First, the color white is not included which means that you basically are only able to paint with super bright colors or colors mixed with black. You neither will be able to prepare the canvas as supposed to w/a white underlying paint. Second, it does not include cleaners for the brushes. You will not be able to get oilpaint out of brushes or even from your hand with soap; you will need turpentine. Third and last, the color from the brush shaft peeled off after the first 5 min. So, all in all not a complete set with not so good quality.

Can't complain at all about this purchase. This reindeer moss is very high quality, nice and soft, and has a lovely charcoal black hue to it. This moss works very well for modeling, landscaping, in flower arrangements, and it also takes a paint cover well. I plan to use it as substrate for an action figure I have to display and I slapped on some dark blue and black paint onto this reindeer moss. I ordered this da Vinci brush with several items (2 books, 1 pencil sharpener)and found the handle rolling around free in the shipment box. No brush portion rolling around. No da Vinci packaging. Strange. I guess I'll stick with Daniel Smith for art supplies.

I decided to try the da Vinci series 1573 travel brushes after being impressed by the series 1503 Maestro watercolour travel brushes which I have been using for years.

The 1573 series are marketed as Cosmotop Spin while the series 1503 are known as the Maestro. Cosmotop Spin uses synthetic hair while the Maestro uses Winter Siberian Kolinsky red sable hair.

The brush body is made of black hard plastic, while the part holding the hair is made of metal. It's a portable design where you can collapse the brush, and the cap will protect the brush tips. At the cap's tip, there's a small hole for ventilation.

They 1573 series are available from sizes 1 to 12. I typically use either size 4 or 6 for sketchbook sizes of A5 to A4.

The synthetic brush tip is firm, has a nice springy feel to it, and can maintain a sharp tip. It can also hold a lot of water.

The downside is, synthetic brush hair is not as flexible as sable brush hair. With sable hair, you can remove most of the water when you flick the brush in a snapping movement. You know like how some animals would shake off water from their hairy bodies? The purpose is so you can use the dried point to collect extra pools of water on your watercolour paper, or when you want to mix new colours. I tried flicking the synthetic brush and it is not easy to get rid of the water.

Sometimes I would use a water loaded sable brush to transfer some water to the mixing pan. When I tap the sable brush tip to the surface, a good amount of water will come out. When I do the same thing with the synthetic brush, not a lot of water comes out that way. So while the synthetic brush does hold a lot of water, it's not easy to get the water out for purposes I've just mentioned.

As for painting, well, it's a terrific brush, and is comparable to sable brush. It can do washes or details depending on your brush size.

If you're just starting out, or learning watercolour, it's fine to get the da Vinci series 1573 Cosmotop Spin watercolour brushes. They are good compact travel brushes.

Personally, I would recommend the Maestro over Cosmotop Spin. The 1503 series Maestro watercolour brushes might be more expensive, but they are just better.

This product cannot be used with any wet paint, so I am not sure what it can be used for. The film adhesive peels up with the moisture, and lets paint seep under, even with just a little moisture. The film bubbles up from the surface and its adhesive is too weak. It will wreck your craft projects. All and all a completely useless product. Thanks Martha...

Best to look for real masking film at an art store, or shelf paper.

I haven't gotten to play with this as much as I would like...yet...but from the little amount I have, I'm in LOVE!

I will admit that I tend to stay away from Martha Stewart products. Yes, they are well made, come in a great array of colors/sizes/options, etc but at the same time it seems that her line of products is more expensive than similar lines. (Not always, but that's my experience.) I have tried other stencil paper and even made my own, but I must say that Martha's Adhesive Stencil Paper kicks some major heinie! I bought it for glass etching. The most important thing with whatever adhesive stencil you use with glass etching is the same thing that's important whenever you're using a stencil you don't want paint (or whatever you're using) to seep under the edges. That is indescribably frustrating! At the other end of the spectrum, you also don't want the adhesive to be SO sticky that it's impossible to remove the stencil, or it leaves a residue. Anyone who has tried to use stencils in general with any medium knows exactly what I'm referring to. Hours of hard work can be ruined instantaneously if the stencil shifts, lifts, or gets permanently stuck.

From what I have discovered while playing with this Adhesive Stencil Paper, those issues are a thing of the past! The adhesive seems to be strong enough to provide an excellent seal or grip around the edges of the pattern you create but is easily removed when you are finished. Wahoo! In this case, I've saved the best for last...you get to make whatever creation you want with this stuff! You aren't stuck buying a pack of stencils so you can get the only one you really want...you can create custom designs right when you want them! And this stuff seems to stick equally well to an enormous variety of surfaces. What more could you ask for??

(These opinions are based on minimal play. I have not had the chance to really experiment with this item yet but it has held up extremely well during the adventures I had with it. My expectations were surprisingly exceeded!)

Bad idea, if you are looking for vinyl to make decals using your cricut machine. Also, these sheets look nothing like martha Stewart's decals. Sheets and decals are made of different material.
