look closely at the picture before you buy. I already own the Dream 1 set and was looking forward to acquiring Dream 2. However, upon opening, immediately noticed the thread compartments aren't labeled with the thread numbers as they were in the Dream 1. In fairness, the description doesn't claim to have them nicely labeled as Dream 1 . . .but I'm deducting a star for the added inconvenience of having to make 104 labels with my P Label.

I'm only giving this 4 stars because I haven't really used it much yet because I haven't worked with thread in a bit.

there are no plastic parts. If you like working with thread but have a hard time handling the tiny hooks this could be your answer. The handle is a G size and the ends fit on and you screw a cover over them to hold them in place. This is the full range of steel hooks.

It comes in a very nice case with heavy protective foam that the hook ends fit into individually along with the handle. The case zippers closed and has a strap for holding on to. The individual hook ends are numbered but it is hard to see so don't let them loose their space in the case. Also the cap that holds the ends to the handle is removable and not large at all so could be easy to loose.

*Want to add an update. I have used this set extensively and really enjoy it. the coupler that holds the ends in does loosen up frequently but my finger is right there and it's easy for me to quick tighten it as I work. It would be nice if this had a sort of small gasket to help hold the coupler on but I still really enjoy using this set.

It is a very clever idea one handle with replaceable heads however it does not have a good mechanism. The heads have to be screwed in, and no matter how tightly I screwed them in, they would always come undone while I was working on a project. The hook heads themselves are fantastic, but every 3 minutes I would have to stop and re-tighten the head onto the handle. I have sent the company an email almost a year ago now, and I still have not received a response from them. I ended up buying regular crochet hooks I feel as though I just wasted money on this product. I'm very disappointed with the product and the poor customer care.

P.S it seems like the best reviews are a result of the amount of hooks in the set and not how well they function.

I love this set. But as others have mentioned the screw mechanism does untighten over time. I have found if you cut a small piece of doily thread and insert it around the handle where the screw mechanism screws to the handle so the thread is under the screw mechanism and then tighten the screw down normally with the thread inside between the handle and the screw pin this keeps the screw from untightening. I hope everyone understands what I mean. The small amount of thread must be held in place between the screw mechanism and the handle mine usually lies inside the grooves of the handle where the screw mechanism is screwed down. This holds the screw in place and you don't have to continue to tighten it every few minutes.

This is a great item if you know someone who is serious about crochet. First of all, it has the hooks that are very hard to find on an individual basis. If you are into making doilies or doing any kind of thread crochet, this is definately the set for you. I got it here on Amazon at a great price. I saw the same set at Joann's Fabrics for $30. I got it here for half that price and it has been worth every penny.

I've ordered *several* of these kanzashi flower makers, so I'll be basically copy/pasting my reviews on them since I feel the same about all of theme.

I got these to use with fabric ordered from spoonflower.com and one thing to note is that all of these are VERY small, I'd say that your design needs to be micro levels of tiny in order to be noticeable on the petals. The large, however, is much larger than the small, and looks pretty nice with a small (not too busy) pattern on it.

The patterns are all very straightforward to use, the holes are numbered, and if you take your time to gather the fabric nicely when you're pulling the thread, they're lovely!

I made mine using cotton poplin fabric, but I also attempted some using a cotton with some stretch and a brocade fabric that also had some stretch. They come out best with the basic cotton poplin very little fraying and the fabric folds very well. The fabrics with stretch, though, were much less cooperative, and want to fray WAY more while being worked with.

I've also tried just hand-folding these, and it takes me significantly longer to do. Not to mention the results aren't nearly as uniform.

But, I make flowers using these templates, glue them with E6000 to a small (about 1" diameter) circle of felt, cover a button in the same or a coordinating fabric (3/4" buttons work nicely with the small, 5/8" for x-small, and 1" for large), sew that in the middle after the glue is dried, and then attach the finished flower to a brooch, headband, or necklace. Using strong adhesives and a high-strength hand quilting thread, I've yet to have any of my crafts come apart!

If you're thinking of picking these up, they're fairly cheap and fun to use. Generally, I prefer the 5 petal flowers to the 10, but you can mix petals for different looks as well.

I found that it is easier to fold my own flowers than to use these templates. I like to use grosgrain ribbon, and these templates only seem to work well for fabric.

As someone who teaches wire weaving, this set is difficult to recommend at this price. All the major components here you can get for yourself and spend under $10: buy a child's pencil case (which is what this carry case looks like) and do your wire weaving on the six sided pencil. Buy a nail clipper from a dollar store, drill holes in a piece of scrap wood, and get a length of craft wire. I wish this were sarcasm; it isn't.

A good draw plate should be made from hardwood, not plastic. The purpose of a draw plate is to shape metal. The draw plate I use started out as a $2 bit of oak from the local hardware store. Just put holes in it with different drill bits; this isn't rocket science. What it takes is something sturdy. The plastic draw plate is apt to wear out quickly.

Other components offered here are incomplete and of dubious quality. Is the wire hypoallergenic? Is it brass or base metal? What gauge is it? The kit doesn't say. This is important information for people who get skin reactions to cheap jewelry or who intend to continue this craft after using up the trivial amount of wire included with the kit. This kit does not include enough components to finish wearable items: you'll also need pliers and clasps.

If your budget for craft supplies is in this price range, it is possible to get a much better introduction to this craft. Here is a list of suggested purchases available elsewhere on Amazon:

The kit advertises itself as gentle on wire coatings, which is true. In order to prevent scratches you could use a wooden pencil as your dowel or else purchase a product which unfortunately Amazon does not sell. It's called Tool Magic Solution, available from specialty jewelry craft suppliers for around $8. The idea for a six sided tool comes from crafters who find it easier to wire weave on an allen wrench than on a round dowel. When you are ready to try something other than six loop weaves, pick up a few round wooden dowels of different sizes from a craft or hardware store.

There is exactly one reason why this review gets two stars instead of one: the Beadalon Lazee Daizee Viking Knit Tool actually does make it easier for beginners to start their first pieces. It takes about 20 minutes for most people in a class setting to learn how to start their first piece without it, but if your confidence level isn't very high you might want that item. The component is available separately on Amazon for $24.21.

I was only going to buy the draw plate, but I thought, "Wow! I can get that and the whole Viking Weave kit in a cute little storage case for less than the draw plate and tools and wire, with free Super Saver Shipping."

It arrived today and the first thing I did was put my tools in the cute little storage case.

Smart...right?

Yes, until with the first zip the zipper on the cute little storage case broke. I was unable to fix it, so now I have everything to try the Viking weaving, but no cute little storage case. I could have accomplished the same thing with a dowel, a piece of tape and some wire (see the internet for free instructions) and made my own cute little storage case, which is the second thing I'm going to do now that I have this kit.

The whole weaving procedure is pretty straight forward; you can even get free directions to make your own draw plate on line. After I make my own cute little storage case, I'm going to try the tools. It can't get much worse from here.....of course the tools are plastic, so I suppose things could get worse if they don't stand up to use.

Fortunately Amazon's price was the lowest I found and shipping was free. If I'd paid the $68.49 list price for the kit, plus shipping, I'd be really miffed. Now, I'm just half miffed.

However, there is a major problem. The instruction pictures are too small and confusing.

The author should have printed directions for a simple way to finish a necklace.

The price for what you get is ridiculous. You'll do better, doing a search for instructions.

When I buy a kit like this, I expect to be able to completely finish a necklace. You can't do this with this kit.

i like the notebook because not only I used it for pastel but for acrylic too and because of paper thickness the result was great. 24sheets 9"x12" ofcourse i didn't noticed when i was buying that the papers come i 6 different colors there are 4 of each these colors: white, cream, blue, green, light pink & brown. but since the colors are mild it's not a problem but it would be better they were all white. eathier way i couldn't get any cheeper than this in stores so I would buy this any way.

Since I just started doing pastels, I'm not that familiar with the different pastel papers, but this is a really good value for beginners & from what I can gather, this is a standard paper for pastels, both oil & chalk or soft pastels. My mediums have been watercolor, acrylics & oils. You could probably use this for watercolor or acrylic if you have a very light touch & don't get the paper too wet. It's acid free, which is very important when you want your art to last more than a few yrs. I've done 2 pastels on it so far & found it very easy to work on. It's nice because this pad also has different color papers you can try out with your pastels in case you don't want to use the plain white. I'd say it's an excellent value, especially if you're just beginning & are hesitant to spend the money for the more expensive supports.

I bought my first Badger 150 in the early 1980s. I bought another one in the 90s. I got my third a few weeks ago when the first two were spraying erratically and seemed to be worn out. While shopping for the new one I found Badger's website and read that their lifetime warranty includes cleaing and repairs. So I followed the instructions and mailed the two old ones back to the manufacturer. They came back seven days later cleaned, one had a new tip, and they now both work like they were new. I use the Air-brush for painting the wooden fishing lures and for decorating the various wood projects I make for people. I have used it to paint flowers on bird houses, add great color to the lures so that people will buy them (not so much for the fish). The brush controls are easy as is the cleanup. I recommend it for any who are interested in adding the artist's touch to their projects. Doll hose furniture is easily decorated using the air brush. Get it and you will find a lot of uses.

The patterns are fun, the scissors are colorful and the spinning wood rack is handsome. Depending on the paper or card stock you are cutting, and the particular pattern of scissors you are using, some of them rip or tear the material slightly if you don't cut carefully. Most of the scissors work very well, but a few don't cut so neatly. They don't seem particularly durable, but being that you have more to choose from, I'm sure this set will provide many years of good use for the artistic person.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is a really cool set of scissors! Out of the 24 of them there are 5 that don't cut very well. But the rest of them work pretty good. There's a wide variety of patterns in the set and any scrapbooker will love a set of these. They are really cheaply made and probably wont hold up to heavy use but at about $1.80 a pair they are a real bargain. But with 24 to play with they should last just about anybody a long time. Having odd shaped cutting edges I don't know if they can be sharpened or not. So I think I'll see what I can do with my Tormek tool grinder to touch up the pairs that I have that wont cut very well.

I cant really recommend these for anyone that wants quality tools. Being a retired machinist I have a thing about tools being precise and do what they are supposed to do. But for the price, you get what you pay for. Several pairs of cheap disposable scissors to play with.

Each scissor in the set has a picture on one outside edge of the pattern it cuts and the other side has the name of the pattern. At first glance, I was concerned that the blades were too far apart to cut anything but heavy paper but it was only a few minutes when I had cut cute patterns into every piece of paper within reach. They are easy to use and cut well but are safe for kids. The wooden rack is a great way to store them and the kids love the brightly colored handles and designs.

This impressive collection contains just about every edging pattern you can imagine, and the scissors are sturdily constructed, able to cut through even heavy cardstock with ease. The "lazy susan" design of the case is a nice touch. It's a great set for the crafter or scrapbooker, and safe enough for kids to use too. It's an ideal collection to share with a crafting group or classroom. I'm not sure why Amazon categorizes it as a "toy", but then again, maybe it is.
