These are unique. Water-soluble ink in blocks the size of pastel sticks. Many vivid colors. Versatile and easy to work with. They make a great portable sketching kit. This and a few water brushes are all you need!

It is INK, so it sticks to any absorbent ground... paper, clayboard, canvas. It is one of the few pigment mediums that will adhere to Yupo fairly well. Once it is THOROUGHLY dry, it is waterproof. That makes these great for under-drawings!

The colors flow like watercolor in thin washes, or become as opaque as gouache when applied thickly.

You can draw with them, then add water to melt and blend colors. You can shave away pigment with a knife or sandpaper to create new color-mixes and add water to make beautiful effects.

Having raved about the quality and the value, I can only make one small complaint. Though this deluxe collection with all the colors is very nice to have and a good deal, you don't need all those colors. I suggest you start with a smaller assortment like I did. Then, if you find them useful, you could invest in more colors. As it is, no-one sells open stock versions of the other colors, so the only way to get some of the colors is in this large package. That's a shame, since some colors are obviously more useful than others and people always have their own favorites.

Other than that, I can find no fault with this unique product. They are one of the best inventions in art materials in the history of human endeavor.

I have been an artist for as long as I have been alive, so when a new and wonderful creative toy comes along I just have to try it. Well, I love these Inktense pencils and blocks! Pen and ink work was never so much fun! And an added bonus is that I can use these to color work I have done on wood. The colors are brilliant and, on wood, they allow the grain to show through. They are permanent, so I can put a finish on my work without worrying about it running. Only con is that a few of the colors are not as lightfast as others.

I hate this die, does not have a deep enough cut to go thru chipboard easily and if you use patterned paper the paper sticks in the groves of the die and you have to dig it out potentially damaging the die cut.

I was in the middle of a plastic canvas project when my last needle snapped, like the two prior ones. Frantic to find a replacement, I bought these, hoping they were the right size. The smallest two were perfect and my fingers appreciate the bluntness. The eyes are also easy to thread without a threader, another item I keep breaking. The sizes are labeled 13/14/16 which may mean something to other crafters, but for me, 13 equals a saved project :-)

I've tried several kinds of dpns: bamboo, metal, etc but none are as nice as these. They're lightweight, have a good grip on the yarn, not too short or long, and are pointy enough to be accurate but not so much that they split yarn. As for the other reviewer who got different gauge with these needles compared to her usual needles: gauge can change whenever anything else is changed. It could be that she held the yarn differently, or knit looser. It's always important to check gauge, and I don't feel that that reflects badly on these needles. They're well made and just right for sock knitting, though I've also used the size 5 to do ribbing on a sweater. I just wish that they'd sell them in sets of sizes 0-5. :)

I knit socks. I use the same sock pattern over and over because I spent a lot of time in the waiting room of a large hospital and I knit lots of socks. I was using a set of metal double pointed needles, 7 inches long. But the length got in the way when I got close to the end of the toe. I purchased a large set of bamboo needles, 5 inches long. The sizes were all printed clearly on the tiny needles. The 2.25 needles were clearly the same from the bamboo and the metal sets. They worked up fine especially at the toe. But they were too short to comfortably cast on 60 stitches. I thought 6 inch needles would be perfect. And six inch needles are perfect. Unfortunately these, although marked 2.25 are not the same size as the other two sets. The resulting sock was visibly two and a half inches smaller around than the many other socks I have made using the same pattern. So disappointed. They feel fine in my hands, they glide though the yarn but they are useless if you cannot use what you make with them.

I am so disappointed in you Friskars.... I had such high standards for your products, and you let me down. The measurement of these stencils are off by an 1/8 of an inch. Which is visible to one who knows measurements, and can easily destroy a pattern for anything that requires assembly. The outer rim off the circle is an 1/8" inch short, and the inner rim of the circle is an 1/8" long. These measurements were incorrect on each of the templates I received.

as a artist I've been looking for circle template lager than the 6" diameter on I've had for years. if you want anything lager though do what I did and buy some pizza pans for templates.

Just what I was looking for. I do not need these for exact measurements, so I have to determined if these are exact, however they appear to be durable. Also, there is a slight raised bump on the underside to keep them slightly off the paper, and to keep them from sliding helpful when using pen or marker. Each circle can be traced on the inner circle or the outer circlethe picture is a little hard to see how wide the circles are, which helps to keep them stiff and durable.

I got this for my 3 year old son. The idea of sticky paper was great, but it is only one strip along the top and didn't really stick well. the pocket doesn't work well for storing things and there isn't anywhere for the paper to store. I found it to be a bit awkward and wished I would have purchased something more hard cased that open and closed for storage. The hard top has a bit of a texture to it too and so it doesn't work well for just any paper and pencil. I have seen other lap tables that are more conforming in the cushion this is just fluff and doesn't stay put easily.

We took a road trip from Iowa to Wyoming. Although the paper doesn't stick super well to the desktop...it was a great hard surface for our son to color on. He dropped the marker more times than I can count and there truly was no mess! It also served as a mini table for when he needed to eat...not to mention it cleans up really well! The storage for the paper and markers is pretty big as well. We fit quite a few other small items in it to help with storage and safe keeping. I would buy this over again if given the opportunity.

We really like these lap desks and especially for the $10 price. Came with the color wonder paper and markers which can be expensive by themselves. We do a Bible lesson each night at bedtime and the kids lay on the floor and write and color using their lapdesks. we've also taken them on car trips and they work well for that also. we're very pleased with this product!

My Granddaughter is pretty quick to learn, so I thought this would be a great way to keep her occupied in the car. Nope!

First of all, the paper used with this lap pad is extremely expensive for a toddler who just scribbles. It doesn't stick at all well to the pad, so all in all it isn't a great deal. She also doesn't really like the "mess free" crayolas. The colors don't "come up" right away and she is too little to understand why and doesn't want to wait. She does like the zipper compartment that holds the special paper and pens.

One great point: These crayola pens are easy to wash out if the child gets them on clothes, furniture, etc. They do what they are advertise!!!!!

I should have waited until she was older.
