Discount Faber-Castell Polychromos Colored Pencils (sets) set of 24

List Price: $64.50

The pencils themselves are perfect. They came undamaged and sharpened to a perfect not-too-sharp not-too-dull points within the case. If you're familiar with Prismacolors, you know what an advantage that is. Who hasn't blistered their hand or obliterated an electric sharpener trying to get a new set of Prismas ready for use?
The Polychromos are hard enough to use for detail but they still are soft enough to blend together easily, and I found you can build layers with these better than you could with say... Prismacolors (which I still love as well, but these have that advantage over them. Using the two in conjunction may be fun, though!) I'll continue to compare them to other colored pencils I use and that are pretty well-known. They're are a less waxy pencil than the Prismas (for obvious reasons the core ingredient in this is an oil and the core base of a Prisma is wax), yet they feel more 'waxy' (although oil based) than Derwent Coloursofts (which nearly mimic a pastel pencil, just slightly harder). They are more pigmented and glide better than Derwent Artist/Studios (also a wax-based pencil), while in use they feel like a super-version of Derwent Artists in how they perform despite having different bases, but the visual outcome is not the same (these, as I said are bolder). I am yet to experience any significant issue with blooming or loosing the tooth of paper underneath layers of the pencil. I do see these quickly becoming a favorite/staple and requiring an upgrade to a larger set in the near future.
Now, I can almost guarantee I'll get a thumbs down for this but I don't care. I know there's a seller feedback section but I feel it's important to include on the product review any issues with shipping damages etc. because 9/10 times, this is what people are looking at before buying a product. They're not weeding through seller reviews until they find shipping feedback on the product. That being said, I was not impressed with how the pencils arrived. They came in a thin bubble mailer with minimal protection. The case is.. wrecked and disfigured. It's dented and the hinges are broken. It doesn't open close properly which is a bummer because the storage is useless to me now. I can't put these in a bag and go away for a weekend because it'll bust open and the pencils will go everywhere. It also makes them hard to store in general since the metal is warped and putting anything on top of it (I stack pencil sets in a drawer) will slide off. So, this is a HUGE downfall to me but I've rated the product itself 5 stars as it deserves. Also, I've ordered from TCP Global Corp in the past with no problems, so this probably is just one unfortunate fluke. I just wish they'd better packaged a relatively expensive product that ALSO had a shipping cost.

I absolutely love the way these pencils handle. I use them in conjunction with Derwent Colorsoft & Nature Drawing Pencils and they are wonderful. I like the way you can layer upon layer, and still see previous colors underneath; really giving depth to my pieces.Best Deals for Faber-Castell Polychromos Colored Pencils (sets) set of 24
I appreciate that the product arrived quickly and I suspect the pencils are wonderful. However, I'm very disappointed that the tin containing the pencils was crushed and bent. This set of pencils was intended to be a gift for someone so its sorry appearance is doubly disappointing. The shipping box was flimsy cardboard and was bent/crushed in half, crushing and bending the Faber-Castell tin. I am surprised that the box of pencils was loose inside the shipping box, with no bubble wrap or protection. I requested a replacement from the company; they said they had no more even though they are still selling them on Amazon. Next I asked for a refund, received shipping labels from the company and I did mail the product back even though the postmaster said he suspected the label was a fraud and the company would eventually claim they never received the return and therefore would not issue the refund. Today I filed a claim with Amazon. I've been patient but 6/7 weeks after the order I still have no resolution. Would not ever order from Buy4Less again and and surprised Amazon would want to do business like this.Honest reviews on Faber-Castell Polychromos Colored Pencils (sets) set of 24
These pencil crayons cost mor than the regular ones, but they are wonderful to use. The color lays down nicely with very good blending abilities. I bought them for my daughter and she loves using them. She loves the depth of the colours and how they blend. Also, the leads are over strong so I do not anticipate bromeliads when sharpening.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Faber-Castell Polychromos Colored Pencils (sets) set of 24
These pencils are very good quality... the color selection was a little disappointing... not enough brights, or pinks or reds. For a smallish set, I wanted more lively colors. I do like the brand and will get more of them...Monday, January 5, 2015

These letters are super small and hard to work with. I thought they would be bigger.
It is a little hard to paste the letters to my pages since they are so thin, I ended up cutting small strips of double sided tape since glue was too messy, if anyone has a better idea or product let me know. I guess I could apply the tape to the paper before cutting but that would shorten the life of my dies, and I wouldn't want that.

I love these the only complaint I have about these letters is that I wish they were a little bigger. Trying to get them to stick on paper is almost impossible. I love this alphabet, it gives you two kinds of letters with circle and without, it's like having two sets! The flowers and tags dies are really useful for dates in my scrapbook pages, the big ones are like 1 in and the small ones like 1/2 in. The actual letter is like 1/2 in, a good size for scrapbooking. It is a little hard to paste the letters to my pages since they are so thin, I ended up cutting small strips of double sided tape since glue was too messy, if anyone has a better idea or product let me know. Cheap Stained by Sharpie Brush Tip Fabric Markers, 8 Colored Markers
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $19.59
Sale Price: $11.56
Today's Bonus: 41% Off

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program What I did not imagine I needed was another set of Sharpies. I was wrong.
Here's my take on these fabric markers:
PROS:
1. I'm a big fan of the brush tips on these markers. Used with a light touch, they will mark the fabric easily without a tremendous amount of bleed-through (unless you're marking a white t-shirt).
2. Colors are bright -VERY BRIGHT -so marking clothes for identification is a snap. No more black marker fading into the fabric.
3. The markers stay within in the designated space without bleeding outward. Thus, these markers are excellent for creating designs on clothing.
4. They're just plain fun to use.
CONS:
1. If all you're doing is marking clothes, you might do as well or even better with a fine line Sharpie.
2. Permanent markers are permanent (duh!), so you need to practice before putting Sharpie to fabric. Making a good design is not as easy on fabric as on paper, and making a mistake is forever!
OVERALL:
These fabric markers are fun to use with their brush tips. Just don't let the younger children loose with them.
1. It is a medium with no learning curve. As someone who has worked with hot glass for over 10 years.... it is sure nice to have something you can pick up without worry, danger or the need for lessons to get basic technique down. These are a lot of fun to use, more so than I would have thought. I like the brush tip. The ink flow is somewhere between a pen and brush. Between the 2 you can get quite a variety of effects. A light tough gives you feathering, a little more pressure a solid line. You can vary the width and intensity depending on how you hold it and how hard you press.
2.. The colors are bright and water fast. I was a little worried at first and washed the first shirt I made inside out so that if it bled it would do so on the t-shirt and not other clothing. No bleedine (either as I drew or in the wash) no problem! I would not give these to a 5 year old... who knows how long it would take to get off skin (but the same can be said of any permanent marker).
3. The ink will take on a variety of surfaces. I'd planned to use these with sneakers and a canvas bag which is very plain/ dull. I tried them out first on some inexpensive blank t-shirts I got to work in (yard work, hot glass... where I do not want good clothing ruined). So, I figured since these were meant to be effectively disposable it was a good way to try out the markers before using them on more expensive, less easily replaced items. I liked the results so much and had so much fun decorating the shirts... they are no longer as disposable as they once were ;).
4. They can also be used for basic Id on clothing, lunch boxes.... things which tend to get lost at school. The colors make it a lot more fun!
Note: the "stained" in the title is an appropriate descriptor both because of the permanence and because of the transparency. What you get are colors much like stained glass. The transparency gives you nice bright colors, but (and this is my only issue... not complaint exactly) because the colors are transparent they do not show up as well on darker cloth. They worked well on white, light blue... but only the black & blue were very visible on a maroon shirt. Maybe (hoping) they will come out with some opaque colors (like the gel pens). That would open up a whole new range. It's a small limitation and one I would not have thought of had I not gone hog wild with this set of markers.
When you consider the cost of art media, or a designer shirt.... you get a lot for the money! You can not buy even a screened artist shirt for what these markers cost. For just over $10 you can have a one of a kind item! Less expensive and just and enduring as those calanders made with kid's art e.g. I am thinking of all kinds of ways these can be used. I may have to order another set (and if they come out with opaque colors, will get one for sure)
The tips are a major bummer. Actually they look a regular sharpie that we have used a hundred times already on clothing where the tip frazzles and leaves stringy pilling hanging off. That cause a smear and you can't get detail lines or marks with these. So I'd stick with a fresh regular sharpie, and then as it gets used over & over and starts to frazzle on the end you can call it a stained sharpie then.
We have washed a few of the t-shirts she has done with these and the color stayed true.
All in all, a solid value for the money.

I was extremely excited about using this product for a project I was working on (putting a quote onto a throw pillow). However, I am extremely upset with the performance of the pen. There was not even enough paint in the marker to finish one quote containing 16 words. I would not buy this product unless you plan on using all of the colors for a very small project.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Stained by Sharpie Brush Tip Fabric Markers, 8 Colored Markers
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I picked these up for my teenaged daughter who is into doing very detailed t-shirt design. She really liked the fine edge for sketching out her designs but wasn't as jazzed about the neon toned yellow and green. The depth of color on the yellow in particular was not what she wanted. She said it just did not read true yellow, more like highlighted yellow. We have washed a few of the t-shirts she has done with these and the color stayed true.

Review of Lacis Bobbin Lace Kit
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $48.99
Sale Price: $27.99
Today's Bonus: 43% Off

Although this is known as the Horror kit by some lace folks I used the original version of this kit to get started in bobbin lace some 25 odd years ago. I didn't have a lace class nearby to get me started at the time I purchased it but did find books available at the local library. The kit had adequate information to get me started and the lace bobbins are better than the ones I had in mine which I still sometimes use. If you are just trying to find out if you might like to make bobbin lace and no lace group is nearby then this along with one of the beginner books would help you make the decision about the craft. The board or "pillow" provided in the kit upon which you make the lace is totally inadequate in the long run if you really enjoy making lace so if you happen to have a lace group to help you get started give this item the boot and use the money to purchase "real" lace supplies and lace books.
This bobbin lace kit is pretty decent for beginners. It gives you all the tools you need to start this hobby without dropping a lot of cash. It could use a little aftermarket modification (more styrofoam and a t-shirt), but it's more than good enough for a beginner. The instructions and included patterns are not helpful, but online tutorials will serve. An experienced lacemaker may be disappointed in the quality of the materials, but the beginner will find them good enough and at a good price.
The Long Version:
It comes with:
24 bobbins. They have a notch at the top to keep your slipknot in place. They have no holes for spangles, so I will be taping the handles with colored electrical tape for identification. I can't rate the bobbins in comparison to other bobbins, especially the antique collections that dedicated lacemakers keep, but they work far better than the pencils I was using before.
A "cookie pillow" and stand. The pillow is an oval piece of very dense stryofoam, about half an inch thick. The stand is folded thick cardboard. Together they work well, but you can't use the foam board by itself on your lap, as you will stab your legs with your pins. To work on my lap, I attached another piece of stryofoam to the back of it, and stretched out an old tshirt over the whole thing to provide contrast (white board + white thread = madness).
Pins and thread. It came with about two dozen pins with small rounded heads, which were helpful as I only had larger pins with huge plastic heads. It also came with thick white linen thread, which I can't speak to since I've been using regular sewing thread in order to have a different color on each bobbin pair. (which I do to both keep the pairs identified and to help me identify where I made mistakes once the pattern is done)
Patterns and instructions. The patterns and instructions are lacking, as described in other reviews. I purchased a bobbin lace book with this kit to make sure I would be able to figure it out, but honestly I just used Youtube an which were more than adequate.
However, the instructions in the kit are basic, lacking pictures, this is why I greatly recommend getting this book too:
Beginner's Guide to Bobbin Lace by Gilian Dye.
I didn't use the patterns given with the kit and chose to make a bookmark from the book (the one with spiders) instead.

The ethafoam pad used to hold the pins and the bobbins and the lace is wonderful and a very creative idea on the part of whoever invented this. I purchased this kit so I could learn how to make bobbin lace. I found the basic instructions very helpful, at first. There were no illustrations for the second pattern template (roseground), only what they were supposed to be easily found in the books suggested on their additional reading list. Most of these books are now hard to find or expensive and I have not been able to find a visual image or written directions the patterns referenced in the instructions on the internet. I even looked at the Lacis web site. Nothing is available there. I felt very frustrated with the lack of directions. The templates are dated 1979 and I am assuming that is when the initial kit was created. It would be nice for Lacis to update their information and make it easier for beginners to get started. The board and bobbins have been satisfactory but the instructions have only lead to frustration and confusion. If you are planning to buy this kit I suggest having several bobbin lace books already in hand for reference.Honest reviews on Lacis Bobbin Lace Kit

These stencils did work good. The paint did not bleed under the design. However, when painting the design you need to start with the larger areas and finish with the tiny holes. The paint dries quickly on the tiny parts by the time you are done painting the design and the larger openings don't dry so fast. When the paint dries while using the stencil ,the paint then lifts up with the stencil when you remove it. I was able to use, wash, dry, then reuse the stencil several times with no problem.

They were fine, but I ended up getting a set of plastic ones so that they would hold up better. This set is pretty light-weight cardboard.

It is possible that I just don't know how to stencil and it is possible I didn't have enough patience and applied too much paint at once, but I ended up with paint bleeding under the stencil and the stencil soaked up paint so they were really only useable one time.Best Deals for Plaid:Craft - Mailbox Letter Stencils - Genie Letter
Nice stencils but the plastic is thin; would like to see them thicker. I have used them on burlap which works well but concerned on other surfaces where running can occur. I'd definitely use a removable adhesive to attach them. The letters are nice, the style good and I like the "old"look.Honest reviews on Plaid:Craft - Mailbox Letter Stencils - Genie Letter
We had originally gotten a set of these stencils at a big box store they do not carry them and we needed to replace. Glad we found these at a decent price.Wednesday, August 20, 2014
Review of Paper Mache Star Shape Box Set 8/9/10''
I bought these to use for packaging christmas gifts. I spray painted them and also did decoupage on one. They lend themselves beautifully. Great sizes.

Buy Clover Kanzashi Flower Maker Round Petal, Small
I've made these flowers before with fabric stitching and with hot glue. This is positively the easiest way I've ever done it. It uses a little more fabric than I use when making it without a template so unless you are using a stiffer fabric they don't come out as crisp as I'm used to. That being said I love being able to make the flowers while watching tv and the template folds so nice and easy.
It can be hard to cut around the edges but once you get the hang of it this is a great tool. We love it for making hair bows.

Brush is of excellent quality, has a nice chisel edge, and a great low price tag. Listing says it normally sells for $63, and I can believe it. I've learned to never use cheap paint brushes. They make painting a real chore, render poor results and are discouraging.
As with everything you buy online, be sure to read the entire item description. There are so many products that are given a one or two star rating just because the buyer didn't bother to read the product description and was disappointed by what they received. Whose fault is that??
For instance, the photo for this item depicts 4 brushes, which is a little deceptive but if you read the information provided, you will realize the seller is selling just the one brush.
