This is the perfect first needlepoint project! It is preprinted on a cloth canvas, with easy to follow instructions. It makes a lovely little keepsake and there is plenty of room to embroider your initials and the date in the corner. I would recommend this for the beginning crafter, aged six to twelve, or older if you're just learning needlepoint.

I picked this up for my daughter, to teach her the basics of cross-stitch. It is very easy, but does not require full stitches. It is fine for a first project, though, and she is enjoying working on it. It arrived fairly quickly and was appropriately packaged.
Honest reviews on Dimensions Needlecrafts Needlepoint, A Cat And A Mouse
First this item came without a needle. When I received the corrected order and started working on the needlepoint, I realized that the instructions were almost non-existent. Having never done needlepoint, I essentially was left to my own devices to find explanations/definitions of what exactly I was supposed to do. Warning: If you have never done needlework, don't depend on this simple project to teach you; for example, there are fill-in stitches you'll need to learn that aren't even mentioned in these instructions. The canvas is substandard, the threads are substandard, and the instructions are intended for those who have prior knowledge. Bottom line: you'll be wasting your time and money on this cat and mouse. You may as well start with something more complex and buy a book to teach you the techniques.

My Grandmother loved it, her old ring snapped and the local store wanted $10 just for the ring, and the product was in great condition upon arrival, though she's already finished the pattern heh.
