I have nothing to compare this to since I can't buy one of each but I can easily state that this protected suits me needs perfectly. As a carpenter I appreciate the pitch scale which works particularly well for roof pitches as well as any incline angle since most architectural angles are state as fall per rise such as ADA required ramps for example as well as roof pitch. In summery, I love it and particularly the magnification feature.
