I am actually using this quilling tool set to create paper beads. Although not suitable for larger beads, this tool works wonderfully to roll smaller beads of half an inch or less. I like it!

I'm new to quilling, but as far as I can tell, the slotted tool is great. Gets a really great, tight quill, and I am satisfied with it. The needle tool is a different story. Upon taking it out of the package, I noticed the metal needle tip was slanted with relation to the tool, and when I tried to straighten it, it came completely out of the grip. I tried to press it back into the hole it came from, which pushed the wooden core further down into the rubber grip. Turns out the needle only goes about 1/4 inch into the wood, and doesn't appear to be glued. So maybe it's designed to be able to come apart into pieces, but as far as I can tell, it just stinks.
