I use this item everyday in my home business. Makes altering patterns a breeze. My only drawback is, at 15.00 retail, breaking one every 3 months can get pretty expensive. That is my track record at this time. Between me, the Kids, and the husband, I have replaced it at least a dozen times. I wish it was stronger.

Sturdy and well made acrylic ruler that is very clearly marked. It comes with an instruction manual (in English and Spanish) that explains how to use it for:

Low quality item! Dropped from the table one time and broke into 4 pieces. The plastic is too brittle for the money they are asking.

I bought it at a local retail store with 40% off coupon. I handled it with care, I didn't drop it, didn't sit on it, didn't spank anyone nor anything but it still broke in few days. It's a great ruler to have for alterations. That's for sure if you can afford to replace it so often. It has serious design flaw of the weak point right in the middle in between two long holes. I can't remember what they are for. But I didn't need them there to weaken the structural integrity of it. I totally believe the other reviewer replacing it every three months or more often. I returned mine. Even with the discount if it can't last a week, it's too expensive to me. I bought smaller one with no apparent weak points, at Amazon. I haven't use it yet. It's short, but it has what I need.

Design rulers are wonderful if you need to modify a pattern by moving the hem or taking it in somewhere. They are indispensable for creating your own patterns, and that was what I did with this. It's fabulous!
