Looking to get my own set, I knew I wanted the Sketch markers, but the different sets available can make your head spin. Having used the markers, I now knew that you could do without a great many of the colors. The trouble was which set to buy which offered a good range, and some blending potential.
There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason behind the color choices in the many, MANY sets, and several colors are duplicated. The Limited Edition set is the one with the best range of shading colors in the most varied palette. I added the Skin Tones set, Sketching Greys, and Earth Essentials, and wound up with only one duplicate (E18 Copper).
= Differences between LE and Standard Sketch =
* The LE set has the brush point, and a fine point nib that replaces the standard Sketch chisel point
* The LE set has black barrels
* The LE Set has a palette of Sketch color combinations not available in any other set
* 24 of the LE colors are from the Sketch D (72) set, and 12 from the Sketch E (72) set. If you have either of those already, you might want to pick a set other than the LE to expand your color choices.
If you can buy only one set of Copics, this should be it. This is an excellent foundation to which you can add individual sketch markers or 3 and 6 piece blending sets to.
= UPDATE REFILLING THE LE MARKERS =
If you read the refill instructions for using Copic Markers Various Ink, you'll find methods for refilling by:
Using the booster needle (not included) inserted along the side of a chisel end
Dripping ink on the chisel end of a marker
Removing the non-brush tip end of a marker (hint don't remove the brush end unless you mean to replace it!)
For those who are wondering, yes you can use the drip method on the brush end of a marker, since the LE Sketch has no chisel end. I didn't have the tool for removing the fine point, so that's what I did. Just go slowly so that the brush nib has enough time to absorb the drops before adding another.

I'm very happy with this Copic set. Seeing how I prefer to use the Sketch markers I found that this set would compliment what I already own. The colors that are included match each other quite nicely in my opinion. I also love how the markers not only have the brush tip but also the fine tip that you usually only come with the regular Copic markers. I must add how the black body give the markers a magnificent look. If you're looking for colors, this set works very well!Best Deals for LIMITED EDITION COPIC 25th ANNIVERSARY SKETCH PEN SET 36 PENS
Great set, great grouping of colors, I liked the fact that they include the fine point, and the brush, which is different from the usual Sketch marker.Honest reviews on LIMITED EDITION COPIC 25th ANNIVERSARY SKETCH PEN SET 36 PENS
I *LOVE* this set!!!!! I hesistated on buying them for awhile though because I do own the full Sketch set already (with the brush tip & chisel tip). They are "Limited Edition" so I wanted to jump on the opportunity before I missed my chance, although take note they've been for sale for over a year now & plenty of online vendors still have them up for sale, so I question "limited". But after using these, I realize I would much rather have my Sketch markers equipped with the fine nib and brush nib like this Anniversary Set has. Come to think of it, I don't recall EVER using the chisel edge :( These are really nice for me because I do a lot of smaller details, which the fine nib works great for. The colors chosen for it are some of their best sellers, & include several of my personal favorites-Egg Shell, Pale Porcelain Blue, Baby Blossoms to name a few. The black body is nice because it makes it easier to pick out from my other ones when I am looking to use the fine nib. Love these-highly recommended.UPDATE-27 Oct 2013
There are now 12 piece sets available I have noticed at the online Blick arts website(maybe other online shops as well, haven't checked). Perfect if you aren't able to afford or don't need the 36 piece set but still want a few of these special edition markers. The colors in the 12 piece sets are the same as in the 36 piece sets, just divided up into sets A,B, & C for a little over $60/ea

This set has to have the best combination of colors for blending(Out of anything under the 72 sets). Each color has another to compliment it, so no marker feels out of place. In my opinion this would be the perfect starter set. I love the design of these, the black bodies with silver writing, it's very chic, and the color #'s are still on the end caps just like regular sketch. I also love that what would be the chisel tip was made into a fine point tip. I rarely use the chisel tip on my sketch markers, so this change was perfect me. The Copic company needs to consider making more of their markers like this.In all, this is a great set and since it's supposed to be a limited edition, I recommend getting it while it's around or before they hike the price up.
