I just got done using these on a car seat canopy. They're the perfect weight for such applications. The item description isn't the best, but what you do is cut a small hole in your material, then sandwich the material between the two piece that make up one side of the snap. Then using a hammer and the included tools you tap them together. The only thing that's a little difficult is getting the hole in the material small enough. Also, make sure not to tear the directions off the back when you open the package. I will use these again and again. The price on amazon is better than craft stores, unless you have a coupon there.

These work OK for medium duty applications. There are heavy duty snaps sold by Northwest Tarp & Canvas for harsh environment duties. Just be sure to purchase quality installation tools. These snaps have black painted buttons but the posts are standard silvery plated metal. Worked OK for some pouch flaps I installed them on.

Didn't get Them in black.To expensive to ship back. Figured I could use them some where else. I can get the silver color locally.

these are great for coats, add safety to pants pockets, so things don't fall out easy, shower curtains, and more, a great product, just make sure you know which part of the snaps connects before you use the snap tool. enjoy
