Out of six nibs in the package, two didn't fit the enclosed holders properly -one fit too loosely and the other wouldn't stay in at all. I'm not interested in trying any more Speedball products if this is how they work.

A couple of the nibs were very wobbly in the pen, but didn't fall out. At first only 2 of the nibs worked, and one of them was iffy. Once I ran the nibs through a match flame, they all worked. I also pushed the side of the base of the nib, making it sit more solid in the holder. For the price they are worth it. I am just learning, so these meet my needs.

This is the best collection of speed ball nibs in my opinion. I use them to do illustrations when my work on illustrator is feeling a bit too flat. Just make sure you have some good bristol board or your going to end up wrecking the paper.

I was stuck between giving this 3 and 4 stars. I'm going to go with three, which according to Amazon means: "it's OK".

They work well and for the price it's worth getting for messing around or trying it out. However, one of the nibs literally shattered the second I started writing with it. With minimal pressure, the tips snapped into two tiny shards and one still hasn't been found. Now, it's not so much the fact one out of five nibs broke, it's the fact that it broke in such a way that it probably could have impaled my eye had I been any closer to the paper. Not a pleasant experience.

Aside from that, the other nibs word relatively well. If you want a cheap set to try or to keep around, then I would still consider these, just be careful and don't expect perfection out of pens this cheap! For what you pay, it's worth checking out.
