I was very excited to buy this for my 15 month old daughter, who loves to play with toys during bath time. I read a review on a different web site about the non-bath version of this product, which has similar plastic character crayons: My Frist Crayola Character Crayon, Red and Blue in which one reviewer wrote that her child took apart the character crayon within minutes and it could not be put back together. I thought the reviewer was being overly critical or perhaps bought a defective crayon, but I had a similar experience. The character crayon came apart while I sharpened it for the first time. I have tried to screw the lower piece back onto the top piece, but it won't stay together. Furthermore, once the pieces are open, you can see that a triangular crayon is being forced through a round hole during the "sharpening" and that is what is supposed to hold the bottom piece in line with the top. If you have trouble getting the thick triangular crayon crammed through the small round hold, then the pieces will come apart. I think this is a terrible design! Also, the crayons don't last make a few scribbles on the mat, and it's time to sharpen again. It's not often that I really regret a purchase I make on amazon, especially after reading reviews, but this is one of them. I'm not blaming amazon at all, but questioning the Crayola brand for designing this so poorly. It's a great idea for a bathtime diversion, but needs major improvement. I wish I had listened to the bad reviews (not posted on amazon.com, but I think babiesrus.com).

Please note that the crayons crumble, break and fall apart VERY easily for this product.Additionally these crayons, although it states they are made specific for the tub, stained the included drawing canvas (we rinsed and rubbed it right after our little girl got out of the tub) but also stained our tub itself. We had to actually get out the cleaner and brush to get this stain off the tub.
Overall a definite MISS. This isn't the level of quality/durability I generally expect or get from Crayola and I was disappointed.
