I bought this to create a faux wood grain facade on my part of my exterior wall facing the road.

Upon receiving it, I practised it on several old plywood sheets( which I've white washed earlier).

You definitely need lots of practise in order to be able to create a releastic pattern.

I found that this tool is hampered by its small size. If you use this to paint a small area( eg.a single door)you should be able to get a pretty good , realistic results( provided you practise first ).I suggest you practise on the stroking & rocking motion to know what action produces what effect.

Since then I've painted several doors . For more instructions, I suggest you checkout the several good sites on Youtube.

got these to make a door look like wood. I have done the door yet but have been practicing on scraps. So far so good. works as expected but requires a bit of practice to get it to work the way you like it. Fun tool to play with
