I bought these for my toddler because he liked to scribble but wasn't strong enough to get much color out of regular crayons (which need to be pressed down on the paper fairly hard). These crayons were great at allowing him to color easily without having to apply much force, but they left a huge mess in our house! They are so soft they smear off onto hands and get under nails very easily, and even after thoroughly washing our son's hands, there would be enough residue left to leave color smears on our sofas, carpeting, etc. basically wherever he put his hands after using these crayons. So yes, they're incredibly easy for little ones to use, but unless you have a designated "art studio" area in your home that's far away from any fabric and you plan to clean your little ones' hands with scrub brushes every time they use them, I would not recommend these. Oh, and as for the "washable" part we've tried plain water, soap and water, stain remover, etc., and nothing is getting rid of the color smears on our furniture and carpet.

I first bought Prang crayons over 30 years ago and was delighted to find these. They color like nothing you have experienced before smooth and bright without having to push hard at all to get vivid colors. Non-toxic, washable and little hands see real color on the page with even the lightest touch. They are crayons, with a holder to keep hands clean, and draw as easily as a marker. I don't know why they aren't better known, because they are great crayons.
