These pastels not only have rich, vibrant color, they can help "save" you because they will cover almost anything you wish. These are my favorite pastels. These pastels are wonderful on Hahnemuhle velour paper. I usually use either grumbacher, Rembrandt, nupastel or Faber castell pastels for my basis, my under painting and then use my lovely schmincke's pastels to finish the piece. Really makes an animal portrait come "alive." Definitely worth the money paid.

I bought these for my mother, who uses them daily. She has mobility issues and depends on these to pass her days. She has used various pastels for more than 50 years and these are her favorites, both because of how she can blend with them...and because of the vivid colors. I had purchased her two other pastel sets that cost less money, but promised they were blendable. I won't make that mistake again. In this case, these are worth the extra money.
