Thayer and Chandler airbrush designs are amongst the original American airbrush designs, and have been made and serviced by Badger Airbrush Company since they acquired the line after T&C went out of business. This is a top-quality single-action siphon-feed brush, and a good, basic kit as listed by Badger's catalog, and kitted by Amazon. I had a problem with a dysfunctional needle-adjuster (the kit had apparently been previously returned by mistake to Amazon and then mistakenly re-sold as new), and Badger Customer Service took care of the issue rapidly after I contacted them, and they quickly sent a replacement part.

Please DO NOT send any damaged items back to Amazon; Badger would prefer all purchasers of Badger-made products to contact them directly for customer service. These airbrushes are all American made, and Badger has continually shown that they are committed to Old-fashioned American-Style customer service.

Once I learned the correct dilution for my acrylic paint (Americana brand, 30% water (or airbrush medium, which will slow down drying and won't dilute the color) as specified on their web-site) the brush works very well, without unreasonable trouble with clogging (even properly thinned acrylic will eventually build up and cause clogging in use, and it is normal to have to clean airbrushes from time to time while in use with acrylics due to their rapid drying time).

I can highly recommend this Thayer & Chandler airbrush kit to any user needing a good single-action, siphon-feed, medium-flow detail airbush.

Considering I'm new to airbrushing I don't feel that I have a lot to complain about. You really need to thin the paint a lot or else you get lots of feed problems, but the pattern adjustment and performance seems decent enough. I won't say it's superb, but only because I don't have a lot to compare it to in my limited experience. I'd say it would do the job for a hobbyist just fine though.
