This is not the Xacto I knew as a young man. Poor quality throughout. Blades are super thin gauge metal. Plating on handles is poor. Even the magnetic strip that holds the blades in the box doesn't work well, and the blades fall out loose when you shut the lid.

Talk about a brand going down hill.

A Nice Set for the price.

Now that I have a Standard Hobby Knife Set, I'll have to find a Standard Hobby to carve.

Ok this is a great little set. I have to really stretch into the nitty gritty to fine anything wrong with the kit.

So... nit picking details...

The box is wonderful and made of solid wood. The inside is VERY cheap thin plastic insert. they have a thin little magnetic strip along the plastic that barely keeps the blades stuck in the cover. If you are careful with it, they will stay in place. Otherwise, they will fall out when you close the box.

on the possitive side, there are so many different blades and devices i dont know i'll be able to find a use for all of them. I'm very tempted to start some odd projects just so i can use some of the odder ones. Anyway, you get alot of variety.... maybe even too much? I wonder if i'll EVER use some of these....

Outstanding kit. This collection of tools is amazing and a great help in my hobby building. I've been shopping for a kit like this and was surprised by the affordability. You can't go wrong with this.

This kit is a nice assortment of blades and two different handles. Where it lacks is that the blades are meant to hold into the case with a magnet strip however some of the blades don't fit very well in there spot and any jarring of the box when it is closed makes the blades fall loose in the case. Also my case wont latch closed either with is no good. I have grabbed it by the top several times to move it and the bottom swings open dropping all the loose blades. Outside of those issues I really like it and will be very mindful of handling it in the future.
