I purchased these replacement cords for a nightlight. I was disappointed to read on the safety information that the cord should not be used for more than ninety days. I think this information should be on the item before I purchased the lights. I would not have purchased them. These cords are almost impossible to find in the hardware store. Because of safety issues the cords would be useful for Christmas displays but NOT for every day.

My Christmas manger had the round hole in the back for a light, but was missing the light and cord. And this light did the trick. Stick it through the hole and the clips hold it in place. It has the switch attached on the cord. Perfect for what I wanted it for.

I don't own a Christmas village that this light is designed for. What I do have is several night lamps here and there that take the very same kind of light as this one. I also have a lot of the old style glass hurricane lamps that have a light on the bottom that works separately from the bigger lamp on top. They all have a small hole similar to the Christmas village houses for installing this kind of light as well. This light is basically just a single light on a about a 5 ft cord. What separates it from the rest as something hard to find is the little clip that comes with it that holds it in place in the hole. If all else fails, the light and the cord can be fashioned out of any of those cheap plastic candle style lights available everywhere at Christmastime. You just break it apart and extract the light and cord inside. However the clips that comes with this replacement light are impossible to find, anywhere. You either get one with one of these replacement lights or you go without. These little clips prove well the old saying that nothing is any stronger than its weakest part. Without the tension clip, the light just flops around and falls out of the hole. Anything that the light is used on finds it falling out at the slightest movement of it. In my hurricane lamps, the little clip is extra important for without it the light completely falls out the bottom and you are forced to half a** it in some fashion. They last quite a long time, but eventually the tension and heat has them breaking. Trust me when I tell you that these clips are impossible to find without getting one along with one of these replacement lights, and finding the light is either near impossible, or costs three times as much as what Amazon is asking in some fancy Christmas shop. If you need one of these lights, or especially if you need one of the clips that comes with it, stock up now, before Amazon runs out, or they disappear for good. Order several at once and make the shipping charge worth it...

These single light replacement cords work great in the buildings of our Department-56 Dickens Village. We had no problems with the bulb fitting inside the buildings' holder area, and the length of the cord made it easy to connect with our village's extension cord. Heartland Valley did an excellent job packaging the product and quickly shipping our order. With the holidays fast approaching, our entire village once again looks like Christmas on a cold winter night.
