I have used this dye set to dye pre-finished silk scarves. I crumple the scarf up, squirt various colors onto the scrunched scarf, in any combination. Then I spray water lightly over the silk scarf to encourage the dye to migrate. The results are generally delightful, the process easy. And these small bottles of dye go a long way.

I had been looking for fabric ink for a long time but was put off by the ridiculously high price of other sets. I had never used fabric ink before and wanted to try out fabric painting without spending a lot of money on something I might not even enjoy. I finally found the Jacquard inks for a fraction of the cost of other brands and went on and ordered a set. The set is great. It works just exactly like the more expensive brands--I know because I paint on fabric with my neighbor, who uses the more expensive ink, so I am literally able to do a side-by-side comparison of the the two brands. Dye-Na-Flow Exciter Pack is the one to get.
