I bought them for a physics lab, and they get the job done. I'd prefer slightly larger ones, to be honest, but these work and I like them. If you need to do just some basic 'line of best fit' graphing, these work well.

If you want to create a swag of banners, or holly, or whatever, on your art project, this set of French Curves eliminates all the guessing about placement. There are so many sizes of curves available within this set, you simply fiddle with placement until the beginning and end of your curve suits you, then draw a pencil line against the edge of the French Curve, as you would a straight line with a ruler, and stamp or draw or glue your items (banners?) along that line.

But what I use French curves for the most is patching curved images my inked stamps left blank because the stamp isn't finely etched enough or the ink pad is too dry. Some people can repair their stamped work free-hand, but my free-hand repairs always end up looking like a kindergartner had an "oops!". The French Curves are see-through, so you can be sure your repair is exact.

For the price, you can't beat the joy of owning a set for those times when no other tool can do the job. That's not often, but often enough that you'll be happy you bought yourself a set of French Curves.
