I use this product primarily as a pen case and not as a pencil case. It is nice, strong and well-made. However after receiving it, I was shocked at the size and no way, I told myself I can put 48 pencils in there.

As you can notice in the product description (surprisingly there are not many explanatory pictures) they only way you can stuff 48 pencils in there is if you force three pencils in a single slot. That in my opinion is not very practical. On the other hand the compact size of this thing means portability.

In a nutshell, this is a nice product for the price if you ignore the 48 pencil claim*. If reaching that number (48) is crucial to you should consider other options.

* I am not inclined to say this is false advertising because the universe of pencils has many inhabitants of different shapes and sizes it is as best a vague marketing ploy.

the image on the packaging is not what the inside looks like. there is only one row of elastic where the image on the packaging shows 2. i doubt this could hold 48 pencils. the elastic is sewn on flat so its pretty hard to get stuff in an out.

This case is perfect for anyone that's passionate about drawing. It can hold so many pens and pencils and if you don't use the bands you can probably hold even more supplies. The leather and craftsmanship on the product is just wonderful. I highly recommend this product.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! My teenage artist used to carry her pencils in original tin all neatly organized by rainbow color. One day she dropped the tin and Aaaargh, pencils everywhere!! Thought there has to be a better way. This is it!! Portable, great quality, and they stay put even when you drop the case!! LOL Do recommend buying more than you think you need. I had to buy a second one when she got more pencils and blenders. My little one thought it was so awesome she had to have one for her colored pencils (opted for the less expensive canvas but still a great quality product). They love that they can bring their pencils anywhere and they don't fall all over the place.

These are great cases....whether in the studio or while traveling.. I love that my pencils are so protected , I only wish there was a way to label what goes where!
