When I ordered this stamp I was just starting to learn leather stamping and was concerned the stamp would be tricky to use because it is a step up from the plain Jane version. If you are only going to order one set of alphabet stamps and want a nice looking one, go for this one first. It was no harder than the "easy to use" stamps designed for beginners but looks so much nicer and is a little bigger so easy on the eyes. This is an excellent choice. I made a lot of personalized leather barrette, bracelets, leather necklace charms, and book marks for gifts and they were well loved. For an easy way to make the stamped image to pop, consider using a colored sharpie to fill in the dots before applying the leather finish to your item. This item was easy for kids to use and great for scout projects.

Our kids have really enjoyed leather working using this set and others. There are lots of little pieces, so its important for Mom or Dad to provide a way to keep them organized. I even enjoy doing this along with my children!

Look it is a poor craftsman that blames his tools. These are nice easy to read letters. Practice on a scrap piece of leather first. You need to gauge how hard you need to swing the hammer. Prepare your surface. I have an oak table, Overlaid with 6 " x 18" piece of sheet steel, 14 gauge. Picked up at the hardware or Lowes, Home Depot etc. Than just a crap of hard wood. Lay the leather crap on this bed and pound away. when you hit just the right depth and impression that you want on your leather, you will know how hard you need to swing to give the desired result. These are not the fanciest, but quality at a low price. I like them, and did every thing I wanted them for.

The item is great, I recommend using fire to heat the tip so it stamps easier, deeper, and lasts. Great for leather.

This is a great little set of letters. They look very clean when tooled into your leather and are perfect for 3/4 inch belts and collars. Not to big or small. The only thing to really watch if you are use to working with the larger letters is that they don't have an indicator to show which side is up. I'm Very happy with the price and the quality of the letters. Thanks Amazon.
