I started this last year, but was overwhelmed by the many small parts, many steps, etc. I just finished it (August, the next year). This kit, and I assume the other Bucilla kits, are not for the faint of heart. If you want it for Christmas, start it about July 4. The finished product looks good, but is rather sparkly with lots of sequins and beads. You cannot eliminate any of these because they are preprinted on the felt. The front of the stocking is rather heavy because of the layers of felt and stuffing. Nonetheless, it turned out to be amazing. I hope my granddaughter grows up to appreciate the amount of work that goes into such an undertaking. The kit was complete, good directions, enough materials. Just realize that there are 85 steps, some of which contain many similar parts (the holly garland, for instance, is one step, but it entails embroidering and sewing many holly leaves plus adding the sequins).

This felt kit was a pleasure to do. I found the directions easy to follow and my only complaint is that Bucilla needs to be a little more generous with the thread especially black, white and the christmas colors. The Bucilla 18-Inch Christmas Nativity Baby Stocking Felt Applique Kit was just what my wife was looking for in an heirloom quality stocking. She made the stocking for our newborn nephew. She has done several stockings by Bucilla and is very familiar with the quality of the stockings.
