My husband got me this Pop 'n Cuts Insert for Christmas, along with the two extended clear plates that are needed to use this insert. The extended plates are not included with this product. You will have to buy them separately (they are sold at the Sizzix web site). He also got me the Sizzix Premium Extended Crease Pad, which is NOT needed (in spite of some of the advertising on youtube) to make pop-up cards.

The sample card with the hollowed-out heart that is shown in the above product photograph needs yet another bit of equipment: the Sizzix Movers & Shapers Magnetic Die Set 2PK Hearts Set. If you have a small heart die from Spellbinders, you can create the hollow heart pop-up in two steps: (1) run your card stock through your Sizzix machine to create your circular pop-up, using the Pop 'n Cuts Insert, then (2) run your cardstock back through your Sizzix machine with your Spellbinder's heart die centered on the circle. This will give you a hollowed-out heart which is very similiar to the one shown in the product photograph.

I've been making pop-up valentines ever since I got my Sizzix Pop 'n Cuts die set. They're really cute, just a bit complicated to make. Luckily, there are lots of helpful videos out on Youtube that demonstrate how to make pop-up cards with this product.

I got this for my birthday, the basic label pop out. I have made so many different cards with it now, I am having a ball! SO far, I have bought 2 more inserts for the base and am planning on buying 3 more real soon.

If that isn't a good enough reason to buy this base set then think of this, you can still use this base set as a side popper instead of straight up. AND if you are careful with the cuts, you can use acetate to cut out the popped out area, cut out the card's backing pop out and glue the acrylic one in, will make your pop outs look like they are suspended in mid air!

Using a bit of Fireline fishing line, I had hearts and stars shooting out of the pop out. You will definitely love this trend of cards.
