These pens are just awesome. Great selection of tips and I love the ink. They feel great while you hold them, but they are a bit small if you don't put the cap on the top while you use them. There are other brands of pens that might be cheaper for inking, but I have used many Faber-Castell products and the quality is just top notch and I really appreciate that. Definitely recommend this for Inking your drawings.

The pens work great, smooth, even flow of ink, no spotty coverage. However I am slightly disappointed in the strength of the ink itself. While it is indeed black, it covers the paper more like watercolor paint. If I want a solid black area without streaks, I have to go over it more than once. The ink coats more like a wash rather than pen ink. To really achieve a uniform coverage, I end up scanning my pictures into my computer and retouching them with a photo program to darken the black areas.

I have used the pens on two different brands and grades of paper Strathmore Sketch 50lb, and Bonjour Studios Acid Free 70lb. No bleeding on either type. However with the rougher 70lb paper, the 0.1mm pen does seem to "scratch" over the surface, but not very noticeable and still produces that incredibly fine line.

Overall, the pens suit the projects I use them for; they are great quality. I would have given a full 5-star rating if it weren't for the washed-out look of the ink.

I'm a casual comic-book/storyboard artist who has had some experience with inking pens.

These do a great job, they write smooth, and have very minimal bleed.

A great selection for the price too, the larger ones work great for filling, and creating backgrounds, where as the smaller ones can achieve very fine detail ( i.e. freckles, eyelashes etc.)

I had to have the box handy for a while till I remembered what style and size each pen was. Obviously some are intuitive like XS and M. But others like SB, SC, and F were new to me.

Overall a great set and highly recommended.

These are some great pensthese were the fist pens I have ever used, and I just love them. The ink does fade a bit, but when yu add color its unoticable.
