'Washable' is a misleading adjective for this product, because it states on the back of the box that it is "formulated to wash from skin, but not from clothing or porous surfaces. Staining is possible on synthetic fabrics."

I tested the Prang metallic pens against another brand, and they are:

less expensive

sold in packs of six colors, as opposed to five for the more expensive brand

produce a broader, more uniform line

dry more quickly on glossy surfaces such as photographic paper

Both brands are advertised as archival, and both can be used on dark or light paper, but I would definitely recommend the Prang Metallic markers.

I purchased these due to the positive though sparse reviews. On the plus side, the colors are very pretty. But that's about the only positive thing I can say about them. 1) only the silver and gold look metallic; 2) after one use, the blue one completely ran dry; 3) surface absorption was poor resulting in the ink coming off on my hands even 30 minutes after application, so I had to use a coat of varnish to seal them. I can't recommend them.

Writes on white, light, and dark paper and the metallic, shimmery element and color come through on these. Adds a nice touch to drawings.

The colors do not come off as metallic which should have a sheen or metallic lookthey are nice markers but not metallic and the gold comes out as more of a green color, the pink is more like a light burgundy. Im disappointed because I really need a bright gold metallic color and cant find it anywhere but one good thing about these is that the colors flows well and covers well unlike other metallic pens where the colors get stuck inside the pens and all you get are scratches.

Works perfectly on black paper. I bought three different kinds..

CraZart, Prang, and Sargent

CraZart markers all color turned silver when writing on black paper

Prang, has a fatter tip, and colors show really nice on black paper

Sargent, has a thinner tip, and colors show really nice on black paper
