After fooling around with various hake brushes, with varied success (and having to trim them), someone recommended these brushes for coating paper for platinum/palladium printing. They are affordable and work ! Even coating and no stray hairs left behind, and these brushes are easy to clean and maintain. So far, the metal banding has held up well and cleaned-up perfectly.
