The sun is losing it's strength, and the days are getting shorter, so I purchased this light to help me keep making pendants even in the fall and winter.
It works, sort of. Yes, I read the directions, yes, I applied a thin spread out layer. No matter what I do the sides stay tacky and if they are tacky, I imagine underneath the thin layer isn't quite set either).
It's such a brilliant idea, but for the cost, maybe a UV light from an aquarium store would work better.
I used the magic glos with ZERO complaints in the sun, it works WONDERS, but under this light it's a 50/50 proposition. I even tried leaving them under for extra time and then setting the pendants on their sides so the edges received more directional light, no luck with this lamp.
It works, but hardly perfectly...maybe it's just me, and maybe I can get it to work on something. For now, I'll keep trying, and hope for spring to come again soon.....

This light absolutely refused to cure the Magic Glos resin in my house even after an hour or more of "baking", I'm left with a slightly tacky surface that is unpleasant to touch and keeps fingerprints. I tried EVERYTHING new bulb, new Glos, dehumidifier on full blast, AC on all night. It cured to a smooth finish exactly ONCE, when the weather outside was beautiful and it was nice inside as well. The point of buying a light though was so that I'm NOT at the mercy of the weather!I was able to get the resin to cure outside in the sun within minutes, so it's not a resin problem, plus it gave me something to compare the sticky resin to, so I could be sure it wasn't "just me".
I took the light into my office one day & cured a test piece of resin under my desk in about 15-20 minutes. The finish was smooth and hard, like it's supposed to be. To save on supplies I've been testing with small drops of resin on packing tape, so it's not an issue of a chemical reaction or anything. The problem is that the resin just won't cure with the light, inside my house.
I have NO idea what it is in my house that's causing this problem and am at my wits end. All I can think of to try next is a unit with higher wattage, but I'm reluctant since I've already sunk so much money and time into this project.
I don't mean to discourage others from buying this light (my friend has had amazing results with it, but her climate is very different from mine) because in the right environment, it's fantastic. I just don't have the right environment I'm sorry to say.
I would like to add that my seller, Beadaholique, couldn't have been more helpful while I was trying to figure this out. I would buy from him again in a minute.
