I absolutely LOVE this design, but I have to give it only one star because the kit arrived as pictured, but with instructions for a completely different project. Hoping that it was a fluke, I returned it and ordered a replacementsame problem, so once again I returned this item. This is a beautiful design, and I would love to do it, if I ever find a kit with the correct instructions. This is not an Amazon problem: I ordered this kit from Janlynn, and again received the same incorrect patternI am currently trying to get instructions for Olde World Map from them (Manufacturer) or instructions for returning it to them. Very disappointed since this is beautiful. But still hoping something will work out.

LATER NOTE: I called Customer Service at Janlynn and they returned my call. The woman apologized for me receiving the incorrect instructions, and she took my info and is sending me the correct instructions for Olde World Map!!! Yay!!! So if you fell in love with this design as I did, there is HOPE! :-)

I am not a very experienced or speedy cross-stitcher, but I am really enjoying watching this project come together. I am looking forward to having it framed and hanging it. I might give it as a gift, but it is so beautiful I will probably be keeping it for myself, and maybe pass it onto my kids someday.

This piece is beautiful, I'm part of the way through it but am already really impressed with the results. I can't wait to get it finished and display it in my home. The directions are clear and easy to follow.

I was really excited for this to arrive in the mail, and after I opened everything up and sat down to begin organizing my floss, I saw there was no black, which is kind of a big problem as I'm supposed to have 12 strands of it. But I figured I can pick some up at the store later and I kept going.

Then I realized all of the floss is out of order. See, the floss comes threaded in cards with numbers on them to match to a legend to see what colors they are. Well, there are three cards (A, B and C) and only two card legends (A and B). Not to mention, some of the colors are obviously mislabeled (I'm no Picasso, but I know that "Light Avocado Green" is not the color of the red floss in its spot). So I'm left trying to match up the colors to their names the best I can and I have to supplement the kit with my own floss. Needless to say, I am really not impressed.
