I use these brushes for furniture decorating. They are great for painting the bands on turned legs. They hold the shape of the band, so I get crisp lines all the way around. I have tried a lot of brushes for this, but these are by far the best I have used for this purpose.I always use black electical tape to hold the ferrules to the handle on all of these type brushes because the bamboo tends to crack. In fact I use the tape on most of my brushes because it prevents water from getting into the ferrule from the top when sitting it the wash tub.

Decent brushes. like previous reviewer I agree that split brushes and loose ferrules are possible. and that they do not hold ink as well as other brush brands. mine have worked well enough for what i use them for which is oxide painting on ceramics. control is average. only issue is absorption really. ferrules tend to come loose in my studio on many brushes the two from this set that i had to glue back on have staid on. i prefer to buy my sumi brushes in person so i cannot always state for the quality as that is how i acquired mine.Honest reviews on Art Advantage Brush Set, 4-Piece
Not a fan.I thought I'd give it a shot and try these without any prior reviews. Ten bucks, right?
When they arrived, the ferrule of one was already detatched from the handle. The bristles don't hold paint well at all.
Very easy to get strays and split brushes with these.
Wouldn't recommend for beginners, intermediate, or expert.. or for anyone, for that matter. You'll be better off with student brushes for a couple bucks more.
