I recieved one of these from my uncle. You open the can and find an oyster. Its smell is not pleasent but after you pry open the oyster, there is a colored pearl inside. The pearl then goes inside a little cage on a necklace. I ordered one for my sister and her daughter for their birthday, they loved it!

My daughter asked for her own oyster to get a pearl from for Christmas. I thought I'd never be able to afford it but then I saw this! I was so excited to buy such a unique gift. It was great. However, the ring broke soon after getting it out and the oyster was difficult to open. Still, she was thrilled and I like that the necklace and pearl itself seem sturdy. My daughter was very happy with it and I thought it was a fun gift for the price.

Remember going to SeaWorld and having the pearl diver bring up an oyster so you could have them open to get the pearl? Well for the inexpensive price of 9.99 you can re-live that fun in your own home. Though you won't be "diving" for the oyster, it does come in a can. We happened to get a pink pearl, but it's possible to get other colors too. It comes with a necklace with a "cage". Just bend apart the bars and put in pearl and bend back for a nice necklace. Very interesting and different gift to give especially for pre-teen, early teen girls.

My son was looking forward to opening the oyster and the pearl. Once the oyser was opened, what we saw was a really cheap low quality plasticky looking small bead that is supposed to be a "pearl". Absolutely disappointed. Never buy from this seller.

I would give negative stars if that option was available.

I remember buying these at the beach when I was a kid and it was pure enjoyment. When I saw these online, I ordered one for my daughters 4th Birthday.

The pearls are not high quality and are actually oddly shaped, but its more about the WOW factor and adventure.

We made it a learning exercise and explained how the pearl was made and then we opened up the oyster for her to see. My daughter did not want to touch the oyster, but she was really excited about the whole process.

The ear rings and ring are cheaply made, but it worked out great for play jewelry.

If you are looking for a high quality pearl or jewelry, then keep looking. If you are looking for some play jewelry for your kid, this is a great purchase. To be honest, it was worth the price, just to see the expressions on my daughters face when she saw the pearl.
