I have been using the Olfa Rotary cutters since they first became available to quilters. This one has an ergonomic to fit the hand well. It is easy to change the blade and the only problem I have with it is that it is not easy to change to left handed use. I would recommend the Omnigrid cutter for ambidexterous use which is important to me as I don't care to move the fabric around and there are times when it is awkward to move the matt.

As a quilter, the need for a rotary cutter is an absolute. This item is the best and can cut through many layers because it is 60mm. I have only used 45mm before this, so I am amazed at the amount of extra layers of fabric that can be cut with this size. Olfa is a great cutter and Amazon had the best price.

As a quilter, I've been using rotary cutters for years now. I have tried several brands. I prefer my Olfa cutter over the others. The handle is comfortable and the cutting action is very smooth. Olfa blades are sharp and very good quality. This is one of my most used tools in my sewing room.

I bought this product 1 month ago (along with an Omnigrid cutting mat) and I love it. It took about 10 minutes to get used to working with it. I chose the model with the ergonomic handle because I like having a larger item to grip. The soft black pad on the handle prevents my hand from slipping when I have to apply pressure to cut through 6 layers of fabric at once. The retractable blade is wonderful. My main concern with a rotary cutting tool was cutting myself by accident. The retractable blade not only prevents self injury but it also protects the blade from unwanted contact with other items which could nick or dull the blade.

I'm so glad I bought this product! It has saved a ton of time and fabric when quilting. I just cut 3 yards of bias tape in about 10 minutes. I can't imagine going back to a fabric pen and scissors to make bias tape.

This cutter smoothly slices through upholstery fabric. Blade replacement is simple and intuitive and you can swap it to either the left or right side (I am left handed). I like the locking mechanism, it makes me feel a bit more safer with that satisfying click.

With a Fiskars 18"x24" Self Healing Cutting Mat, I am able to trace around some basic patterns, but for detail work, the smaller diameter blade might be nicer. A large mat could be idea depending on how much space you have. Fiskars has a folding mat, which appeals to me, but I haven't tried it.

I purchased this for less than the MRSP (yay!) and liked it enough that I obtained a pink one along with a pinking blade (fun!). Good luck with your research!
