I like the handles, shape of the blades, and the price. It took me a while to grind each one down, then use a sharpening stone, then leather strop. Now they shine and are extremely sharp. The blades hold their edge well.

These carving tools are bargain basement but still maintain a reasonable amount of quality. Though not suited for a veteran woodcarver, they make excellent and inexpensive tools for a beginner.

Honest reviews on Loew-Cornell Wood Carving Knives, 12-Count

these are terrible knifes don't waste your money. when if first started. the blade itself sinks into the handle with use. and the end cap cuts and comes off. they are not sharp at all. and they don't keep a edge for long and sharping them perfectly takes to long. just to have the edge off within 10 minutes. and complete sharpening is needed again.

These carving knives are not very sharp. I would not recommend these for anyone. BUT they are cheap, so I tried them out. You always get what you pay for. If you want good quality, you're going to have to pay more. If you're okay with dull, flimsy carving knives or you are on a budget... these are okay. Not horrible, but they are not great.
