I have now purchased all the colors. I have been trying various color systems for over 15 years and with the Copics have finally found the system I love. They have a learning curve but with YouTube videos it does not take long to learn how to use them you need to use the right ink if you are stamping and the right paper the paper makes a real difference on how easy they are to use. They seem expensive but I have purchased so many markers that are not refillable and you can not replace the nib on them that I see these as a lifetime investment. If you want to get the most out of your Copics, you should get a set of standard size markers. These ones are the smaller versions... They're less expensive, but they hold less ink.

But speaking of Copics in general, it's a great marker to buy. They may seem expensive, but if you're serious about marker coloring, then you should consider them. Many professionals use these markers and they bleed less (so I'm told) than the major American brands (such as Prismacolor). They're alcohol based and can make permanent marks on a great variety of surfaces. I was even able to use them to color smoothly on a plastic model.

I would be careful, however, if you're planning on marking up a page you've inked directly. Many dipping inks will smear if Copics are applied directly to the ink. I've tried this several brands of ink and have come to the conclusion that there are inks out there which will not smear when marked (technical pens are especially useful to avoid smear), but most will.

I'd recommend looking at the Copic marker website, because it has a lot of useful information about the markers which is valuable for those considering an expensive purchase.

The best Japanese markers that a normal person can afford. If you are semi-serious about making marker drawings that look good and last, go for COPIC markers. Just don't expect to transport your markers in the box they come in. Not sure what went wrong there.

The item received was not as described. This is the "Original" square barrel marker set not the "Sketch" oval barrel set which means that the nibs on them are different. Very disappointed to have received the incorrect product. The picture should be changed to indicate the actual product being shipped.

Yes, they are expensive...but entirely worth every last cent, IMO. However, they ARE refillable. The refills can run $7+, but you can get several refills out of them. I was using Prismacolors, and finally gave in and bought all of the Sketch sets. Prismacolors are nice, but these outshine them in so many ways. Refillable, brush nibs, more color variety, smoother blending to name a few. I am still learning a lot, but there are a lot of great tips on Youtube, blogs, & Pinterest(my favorite go to-I have a board dedicated to Copics alone). My art has really taken off since I bought them, simply because I can't wait to have another picture to color! If you are on the fence-get them, you won't be disappointed.
