This was my first set of pastels and it is very suitable as an introductory set. The pigment applies smoothly and the colors are vibrant. However, some colors do tend to fade over time, but that's also true of some more expensive brands. Even though I now use "professional" brands of pastels (such as Rembrandt, Sennelier, Schimke, etc.) I still reach for my Koss set at times.

We used this at an outdoor chalk event, it works great if it's rubbed in with a spong and lasts a long time.
