I just began glass painting...purchased paint, brushes, several books at a local craft store. I've been tole painting for years and thought I was an expert on "all things painted". I bought very good quality, all purpose brushes...picked individual sizes that I'd used previously on wood and other decorative projects. So one Saturday afternoon, I got started on some wine glasses I'm planning to give as Christmas gifts. I had nothing but problems....too many brush strokes, the paint went on way too transparent... I kept applying coat after coat to get the result I wanted. Then I'd wipe it all off with alcohol and start over. I'd just about decided that this type of painting just wasn't for me.....the perfectionist in my would never be satisfied. So...I hit the internet and started reading reviews, bulletin boards, etc....looking for what I was doing wrong. I came across some Donna Dewberry comments (I had seen these earlier but thought they were just a gimmick to sell more product) about these one stroke brushes and how they were specifically designed for painting on glass. What the heck....I ordered them and the completer set.....and what a spectacular difference. I still can't believe what a difference they made. The paint flows smoothly....2 coats achieved the result I wanted with hardly any brushstrokes. Who knew?!?!?!?

would recommend these as they are pretty good quality for the price. haven't had any problems with the 'hair' coming out of the brush yet.

I just started with this medium and found these brushes as recommended by other glass artists. They tend to fray and separate even with the best care. When new, they are wonderful, but after 2 dozen glasses, they looked ragged.

I love these brushes! There hasn't been anything I've tried to do with face paint that I can't do with them and they are so soft! I just got these as a first face painting kit and after working with them for several months I decided to order the full set of one stroke ceramic brushes, mostly for the larger range of scrubby brushes, which are great for creating air brush type effects. The only complaint I would have with these is that the finish on the handle wears off quickly.

White and seafoam green are my school colors and I am rather partial to them. So it disappointed me when the finish began to crack after only a few weeks. Since face painting is kind of a performance art, I also like to keep my equipment looking nice. That said I solved the problem with the cracking paint by coating the handle in clear nail polish. A warning if you decide to do this: the nail polish dissolves the paint. This is good in one sense, because it allows you to fix any cracking that has already occurred, however make sure you have some way to keep your brush up right and do not let your brushes touch each other while they are drying!
