Let's look at this product in two different lights. I think it's only fair.
1. Price vs. Product:
It's really good. $20 for 12 sizes? That's like less than $2 per set. Perfect for on-the-go knitting. I won't want to shoot myself for losing a needle here and a needle there.
2. Product alone:
It's definitely not as smooth as other bamboo needles I have used (such as Clover's Takumi needles). I find myself having to push harder in order to move the yarn off the needle. The points of these needles are also not finished as nice/evenly. The larger sizes have blunt/chunky points that when knitting, it can be hard to get the needles in the loop to pick up the yarn. And for the smaller sizes, the points are so pointy that it can really hurt when you accidently poke yourself or use your fingers to push the points of the needles. I don't usually knit and have to push the points of my needles to move the yarn off, but because these needles are not as smooth I find myself doing that quite a lot. For me, that's a really bad combination because it takes the fun out of knitting. I am often forced to have the put my knitting down because of how much my fingers are hurting me.
Overview:
I probably won't be buying these needles again. Knitting is suppose to be fun and enjoyable. There's no point for me to knit if all I do is get frustrated, and worse, hurt.I love knitting hats in the round but was never crazy about using double pointed needles for finishing the crown. These five inch needles make the job a snap. They are great quality, very smooth and you certainly can't beat the price.
