I love the idea of this tool. It is easy to use and creates cute paper-covered brads to match your project. BUT don't touch the brad because it is liable to fall apart in a light breeze. The brad backs (the pointy side) just pop right out of the brad top with the slightest touch. I can't imagine even being able to put a page into a page protector without them popping off. However, there IS a solution. I used 2 layers of "Sticky Strip" adhesive from Stampin' Up (available in retail stores but I can't remember the brand name) on the face of the bottom piece before assembling the brad with the i-top tool. This seems to hold them together just fine. I will keep and enjoy using my i-top tool, but the tool/brads are not the quality I expected and it does require an additional step of adding adhesive.
**UPDATE**
I contacted the mfr about this issue and they sent me a new pkg of blank brads because they figured I got a bad batch. I'm happy to say that the new brads work great no adhesive needed! EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I recommend this product and if you have any issues definitely contact the mfr.

I have had my I-Top now for several months, and I LOVE it! I can cover brads with a variety of materials, not just paper. My favorite so far was denim cut from my toddler's blue jeans that no longer fit. I love the variety of sizes and uses for the brads.I don't have any trouble at all with the tool. At first, I had trouble setting the brads but it was because I didn't have them centered well. With practice, however, I am able to create a sturdy brad every time. And the new backers (magnets, buttons, pins) are really fun, too.
I would highly recommend this tool to anyone who enjoys customizing their embellishments!

I was really excited to get this tool. I thought it would be really great to make my own brads. However, the cost just is not justifiable. Also, when ordering from amazon.com be aware that you do not get the brad daddies with it. You have to order those separately. I did have some issues attempting to make a nice "clean" brad. However, I went on Utube and watched some videos that gave some tips for it. Hint: If you want a nice rounded edge to your brad then try using slightly damp paper. Like I said though, this tool is great because it lets you make your own brads, however, I would not look at this tool as something to replace store bought brads because of the cost efficiency, however, if you just want to make a couple of really special brads then you may want to invest in this. The cost of the brad daddies are the biggest problem with this tool. However, I got a bulk pack at OhMyCrafts.com (40 brad daddies) for like $7.00. The nice part of this tool is that if you don't buy a lot of brads then you can quickly and easily make your own, but if you use a lot of brads in your scrapbooking or other projects and you just want the simple or designer styles then buying them store bought is more cost efficient.Honest reviews on Imaginisce I-Top Tool
This is one of my favorite tools ever! I love to use it for scrapbooking and making matching brads of all sizes for my layouts. But, it can do so much more! I have made my son's soccer team matching pins for their teams, made fabric buttons that coordinate with my baby quilts, and covered my refridgerator with magnets!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Imaginisce I-Top Tool
Yes, it's true this i-top takes a few moments to learn, and you definitely have to read the manual, but once you get the hang of it, it ROCKS!I make pins, brads, buttons, everything with this tool and it works perfectly every single time.
I love having my own matching brads and buttons with no muss or fuss.
*Quick tip* if your paper is extra thick or you are using a photo, slightly VERY slightly wet the back with a sponge then make brad or pin, it will help it to fold properly into brad*
I have never had a brad fall apart as previously suggested, I completely think it is worth it.
The tool is easy to use even on my poor aching hands. It is high quality and worth every penny!
