I have fallen in love with these paints for all kinds of hard plastic and vinyl dolls! Many people that use these paints use them for reborning a doll, but I use them to restore and repair dolls. I was using regular acrylic craft paint and trying to mix the shades I needed and that drove me crazy. After I put it on, it was chalky and awful, and it came right off. I "pounced" the paint on with a sponge, in thin layers, and I was so surprised at how the doll's faces were finally looking like I wanted them to. They now have the beautiful facial colors they were made with 50-60 years ago. The directions are easy to follow and emphasize allowing each layer to fully dry before you add another one, which gave me the best results. The colors are premixed to be in skintones, like makeup, so it is easy to tweak it to get the color you need to paint a doll. They look dewey and soft, not chalky. They're also easy to clean up if you do it while it is wet. Once the paint dries, it is nice and permanent. I am still learning a lot about restoration of vinyl and plastic dolls, and I LOVE to use these paints!Saturday, May 31, 2014
Discount Luminaire Paint Colormate 7 Color Flesh Set
I use this set of flesh paints with every reborn I paint. No skin tone is simply a monotone shade of one color of flesh, and this set gives you the ability to add dimension and realism to your reborn's complexion. I also find that you can include this kit with the rest of your collections of Luminaire by adding and mixing to get that perfect shade! The Luminaire Paint Colormate 7 Color Flesh Set is the perfect addition and and extention to creating the perfect reborn baby or for restoring your old vintage dolls. You will be astouned at how far these paints go! The are super concentrated and they use plain water instead of the horrible thinners used with heat set paints. NO HEADACHES OR NEED TO VENTILATE! NO TOXINS!! I LOVE THESE PAINTS! TRY THEM, YOU WON'T BE SORRY!!!
