strip you may findthat the tool has a tight fit which is great for the regular quilling strips, but for the thicker quilling strip you may need to open the slotted toolalittle more for a easier fit. Take the tip of the needle and gently push it a 1/3 of way into the top of the slotted tool, then gently rock it back and forth slitly until you see a slightly wider space in the tool. Make sure not to rock it to far because you will break the tool. Hope this helped. Happy quilling.

I purchased this quilling tool set hoping the wooden handle "pin" would be more comfortable and I was correct. The pin part of the set is well made, does not come apart and is just the right length. The slotted tool, however, is another matter. First the tool is too short. This would probably be fine for a person with small hands, but (I wear size 7 gloves) it was hard to hold and my hand cramped before using it very long. The tool is metal and I found it hard to control. I wish it, too, were made of wood.
My score is five stars for the wooden handle pin and two stars for the slotted tool. While it may cost a little more I would buy the pin separately and continue looking for a wooden handled slotted tool.
