These are the best pencils I have used. They draw nicely, sharpen easily and are very consistent. My other pencils kept breaking the graphite when i sharpened them and when i draw they just were not very smooth. Pay the little bit extra and get these pencils, very nice!

The photo in the ad is correct but the description is wrong. The words say: Produced in a full range of 20 degrees from 9B to 9H but actually only 6B to 4H. Good product but not as described.Best Deals for Derwent Graphic Pencils, Medium, Metal Tin, 12 Count (34214)
I love the quality of these pencils. I am taking a drawing class for the first time this semester and the range these pencils give me is great. I've had my teacher tell several other students that their supplies weren't adequate but has always just focused on showing me how to use mine. I don't know too much about pencils but if you're looking for a great starter range I would recommend this set.The only down side I have for the pencils is that the case doesn't allow for easy viewing and the pencils fall out fairly easily. However, I didn't really consider the case a huge deal because it stores them perfectly in transit. I just think it would be nice if the pencils snapped in and had a label along the bottom (not on the pencil) to know which pencil you're grabbing (because the pencils will rotate in the case).

I personally don't draw much but felt I needed to get some official drawing pencils to maybe help. I always drew with my mechanical pencil which usually smeared all the time and if I ever had an art teacher or art friend, they'd get kinda annoyed with me using a mechanical pencil... not sure white still..I haven't used these pencils much yet, but I have tested out the quality and done a few drawings to see how they work and they are definitely good. I'm not sure about the smearing part (since I use a sketchbook, often it'll smear onto the next page) but I'm sure most pencil things do that anyways.
