I work for a knitting magazine and these needles are like gold currency around the office. The bent tips make them ideal for seaming and they're just blunt enough to not split yarn but sharp enough that they slide through even smaller gauged knits. The Chibi is the best way to keep them organized and you can toss it in a knitting bag without having to worry about delicate items being punctured or a needle worming its way through a loosely woven bag and getting lost. I buy the needles in bulk and always make sure I have a Chibi with me when I'm working on a project.

I had been using straight needles to finish my knit/crochet projects until I saw a friend using one of these. I bought two sets right away. I used my new needle last night and it was SO MUCH EASIER than a straight needle. The bent tip grabs the stitch you want without you having to push your hand down to finagle it. The gold-ish color of this needle made it easy to see, the size made it easy to manage, the size of the eye made it easy to 'thread' the yarn through, and the smoothness lets it slide through your stitches.

Someone left a review that it felt "cheap". I disagree. I have used plastic embroidery needles in the past, and this is not plastic and does not feel unsubstantial. I like the size and had no trouble with it on my light-worsted-weight project. Perhaps for really thin yarns it might be too big, but it probably depends more on the tightness and elasticity of the stitch/yarn in question.

I love the screw-top case the needles come in. I have one for my home bag and one for my on-the-road bag. I am so happy with my purchase!

This time I was buying for the case and the needles were the pleasant surprise.

With my original purchase (Clover Chibi with Darning Needles) I wanted the needles and found out how wonderful the case was. It's small, but holds the needles I want. Plus it's brightly colored so it's easy to spot when it's not quite where I'm looking for it. The top is a nice screw on, so no unexpected pop-offs and lost needles. There is even a small loop/hole to run a thin lanyard through if desired. So, last time I wanted the needles (which were fine) but fell in love with the holder.

This time I was after a second set (I've taken to keeping some hooks, needles and yarn in various locations...sigh, what an addictive hobby this has become), so I bought these rather than repeating the other set. I REALLY love the needles--light but strong and the gold color is easy on the eyes when running through the yarn. The bent tips I found really make weaving through stitches super easy.

All in all a very nice item that makes finishing projects much easier.

HIGHLY recommended!

Honest reviews on Clover Chibi with Jumbo Darning Needles

I really like the case, but the needles are almost like they painted over them. Very cheap. I prefer the 99 cent Boye tapestry needles. The quality is much better as well as the price.

Upon opening these needles I was shocked at how light they were-so much so that if they weren't cool to the touch, I would have sworn they were plastic. Considering that I just bought a pair of comparable metal darning needles for $0.99 at Michael's last week which are heavier and feel sturdier than these needles, I'm pretty disappointed. For $6.50 ($3.25 per needle!) you'd think they could come up with something that at least feels solid. We'll see how these hold up, but I'm not exactly hopeful. The one plus is the carrying case very nice to have. But I already have a carrying case so that wasn't exactly a selling point for me. Oh well.
