I have all the sets of these markers now and the more I use them the more I like them. The leas several sets seem to have lids that are easier to remove than the first markers I got. One set had some leakage of one of the pens and one set had a duplicate and was missing a color so check them when you get them. Still trying to resolve that issue.

I make and sell greeting cards and have a set of Prismacolor art markers that I like very much. However, I also wanted to get a set of pastel markers for cards in muted colors. These Spectrum alcohol markers are currently the rage in all of the card-making magazines, so I thought I'd give them a try.

The colors are exactly what I was looking for, but there were two problems:

--the colors aren't named, e.g. 'lilac' or 'deco rose' but are marked with a hieroglyphic such as 'FS1.' The color is shown on the outside of the pen, which comes with a broad and narrow tip, so you can still choose the color you want without too much trouble, but I was used to working with names.

--one of the pens in my set leaked before it even arrived, and it was difficult to get the color (an unpleasing yellowish brown) off of my hands and off of the other pens.

I've used Copic markers and the Spectrum Noir. For the price, feel, and narrow tip I prefer the Spectrum Noir markers. To me they are a better value and they are comfortable in the hand for tiny areas or to color larger areas. Easy to use and their blending ability is amazing.

great pens, I know they cost a lot but they are well worth it. Don't think I'd spend the money on refills, I'd just buy new pens, it turns out much cheaper that way.

These alcohol ink markers are easy to use and less expensive than the other well known brand. The two tips on each pen make it simple to apply colors where needed.
