The stone caring tool set is not top of the range, but good quality steel, they were sharp, well packaged and have everything you need get started in stone carving, I believe that if I look after them they will last me for years. I have been carving with them regularly and I love them. Great buy.

Set is okay for beginner rock carver using soft rocks such as sandstone, not strong Hawaiian Lava Rocks like Hawaii Island has. The chisels including the hammer are too soft for our hard rocks but does a fair job. After several hours of pounding, chisel and hammer surfaces began to "melt", or flatten out. Must frequently sharpen the chisels on the gringer as with all other chisels, low or high quality. The company that makes the one I purchased also makes a higher quality set which I will purchase in the near future. Aloha from Hawaii.....Rick L.

Well, I can't totally speak for the quality of this product yet, since I've yet to try it on anything like limestone. Don't try to carve/sculpt marble or granite with these babies, I tried that and it dulled the tips on the first blow. It powers through sandstone though, so that's a good sign. All in all I would say this is definitely beginner's set, but it works.

The description claims these chisels are capable up to the hardness of marble but the poorly tempered steel says otherwise. On a piece of Vermont white these tools were dull after 3 strikes. Shipping was quick, the carrying case is nice and I'm a fan of the shape and weighting on the hammer. However I must advise anyone looking at this set to get some good Italian tools if you plan on working on anything harder than alabaster.

Using USPS is a nightmare, but it finally showed up. The chisels are a little weaker of what I thought. They were supposed t work well on hard stones but I guess there are some marbles that are stronger.
