If you love drawing in color and you are a purist than you'd rather acquire these color pencils! Moreover they are from America, and unfortunately not sold in France. I love the Faber Castel Polychromos, and above all the Caran d'Arche Pablo, but these ones are even better!Their color is so intense due to the rich pigments, it is amazing! They are made with wax, which gives a kind of creamy colored texture on the paper, great! They are really easy to draw with, a real pleasure! You need an electric pencil sharpener because on the contrary the lead will break. If you want to, you can mix the colors with a blender, a pencil made on purpose for sale on this site.

I used these as a child and have bought them for my children to use. The cores are thick and smooth. In all the years I've used them, I have very rarely found one with a broken core. The colors blend beautifully and consistently. They are more expensive than many other brands out there, but they are worth it. I believe children should use good quality color pencils, so they can learn to love coloring and art. Color pencils which don't blend well, are prone to breakage, and are hard and don't cover the paper with brilliant colors are frustrating and not worth the money saved. Because the colors blend so well, it isn't necessary to buy a large set to begin with. You can make many color combinations with these twelve pencils. This is a great way to teach children color theory. For this reason, I always start my kids with this smaller set. After a few years, I get them more colors. Prismacolor sells individual colors, so it's easy to replace the ones that are used faster, no need to buy an entire set then.

You have to sharpen them a lot. The colors were bright and did blend well but the constant sharpening was annoying. I bought some woodless color pencils instead. However the store who shipped them was prompt and packed it with care.
