This is very fun stencil to use in mixed media. It is a little thinner than I would like but it does bend nicely on curved surfaces. I use it with both spray inks and sponging acrylics.

I bought a small set of soft pastels on a whim not too long ago, and instantly fell in love with the medium. I wanted more colors to work with and a friend suggested Loew-Cornell as the brand to start out with. I must admit, I was a little hesitant to try these at first, as they were much cheaper than the more respected artists brands, but I'm glad I spent my money. THe colors are bright, and the pastels themselves are quite smooth. I would definitely recommend these for the beginner pastel artist.

Absolutely no cushioning inside the tight-fitting box so many sticks broken in pieces, some smashed. Disappointing, but for the price I guess this is what you get.

I actually purchased the Loew Cornell Soft Pastells to use for under painting. They have a very large variety of colors and make very good pastels for under painting. They are firm and do not have as much quality pigmentment as some top grade pastels. For the beginning artist, they are an excellent and affordable beginner's medium. For the intermediate and experienced artists, they make a great under painting medium or are great for mixed media art. They definitely meet my needs for under painting.

I purchased this product as a gift. I have to say that while the product works for its purpose, I was a little disappointed when it was opened there were many pastel sticks that were broken and some in small pieces. I have seen it in use though and the large array of colors are quite nice.

The pastels are decent but the box is a disappointment.

Pieces of wood just come off the hinges and it falls apart. You may have to glue the pieces together yourself.

If you love drawing in color and you are a purist than you'd rather acquire these color pencils! Moreover they are from America, and unfortunately not sold in France. I love the Faber Castel Polychromos, and above all the Caran d'Arche Pablo, but these ones are even better!Their color is so intense due to the rich pigments, it is amazing! They are made with wax, which gives a kind of creamy colored texture on the paper, great! They are really easy to draw with, a real pleasure! You need an electric pencil sharpener because on the contrary the lead will break. If you want to, you can mix the colors with a blender, a pencil made on purpose for sale on this site.

I used these as a child and have bought them for my children to use. The cores are thick and smooth. In all the years I've used them, I have very rarely found one with a broken core. The colors blend beautifully and consistently. They are more expensive than many other brands out there, but they are worth it. I believe children should use good quality color pencils, so they can learn to love coloring and art. Color pencils which don't blend well, are prone to breakage, and are hard and don't cover the paper with brilliant colors are frustrating and not worth the money saved. Because the colors blend so well, it isn't necessary to buy a large set to begin with. You can make many color combinations with these twelve pencils. This is a great way to teach children color theory. For this reason, I always start my kids with this smaller set. After a few years, I get them more colors. Prismacolor sells individual colors, so it's easy to replace the ones that are used faster, no need to buy an entire set then.

You have to sharpen them a lot. The colors were bright and did blend well but the constant sharpening was annoying. I bought some woodless color pencils instead. However the store who shipped them was prompt and packed it with care.

I like these stamps the design is nice with lots of possibilities. However, I would like to caution that I haven't had success in making a clear, strong image with the solid parts of the stamp. The image is "grainy", and I've tried different inks on different papers. It's not bad, per se, but you have to adjust your expectations.

AMACO Tri-Bead Roller Reviews

I just got started with polymer clay bead making. I've been seeing this item in the store and wondered how on earth it works and what it does.

I finally decided to buy one and try it out. Mine didn't come with the round thing pictured above. (Maybe that is the measuring cup?)

This gadget is pretty spiffy. It neatly rolls beads into three shapes. You pinch off a piece of clay (it has to be large enough, but not too large; I haven't figured out the measurement yet--maybe I should read the instructions!), put it in one of the grooves (round, bicone, or oval) of the bottom tray, place the top tray on, and slide the two tray pieces back and forth, gently exerting pressure. It forms a bead! You can make your beads all the same size and shape with this tool.

I think you're supposed to insert the hole-poking wire before you take the bead out, but I didn't do it that way. My beads turned out fine when I baked them.

I don't know if they make the bead rollers any smaller. I would prefer beads of a smaller size or, rather, I would like to be able to make uniform beads in other sizes. Other than that I see nothing to complain about.

This bead roller is perfect for making beads of diferent shapes, you can make low cost jewelry that looks like a very expensive one with this perfect tool. When I use the Tri-Bead Roller my beads can be uniform, I just change the color. This is a really very good tool and is very easy to work with it!

I really like this product to make round beads, but I have a hard time with the other two shapes. You really can do so much with this tool, I just don't think the amount the little clay measuring tool uses is the correct amount for any bead other than the round one. It is fun to put two colors together and blend them in a swirl pattern, but I have a problem getting the oval bead looking like one bead, it seems you really have to push the clay together, which defeats the purpose if you are just wanting a swirl pattern.

I'm taking a drawing class for fun and the instructor told us to get some crow quill pens.

I got this. I'm not sure if any of the nibs are true crow quill but it works for me. Although, 2 of the nibs won't work if you pull them straight back. Only if you pull to the side at an angle. I'm not sure if that just how they're supposed to be or if they're a little messed up. They're all pretty thin metal anyway. I'm more used to a calligraphy flat nib.

Perfect product for my project. I took crystal angel charms and painted the body crystal in the colors of various birthstones. The transparent colors look exactly like rubies, sapphires, emeralds, and for stones like peridot, citrine, and garnet, a little mixing of colors worked perfectly. I even mixed up a good turquoise with blue, green, white and a little black.

The little pots will last a long time, I'm sure as it only takes a little bit at a time for this type of project.

My art students play a game called "Flashlight Art" and previous to finding this marvelous product, a teammate and I had been using colored cellophane affixed to the flashlights by rubber bands. Well, you know what happens with that....elementary students tear it off within a couple class periods plus, it is so thin it rips very easily. So, I decided to get this stained-glass making paint and give it a try. Boy, was I excited when it actually worked!!! I painted directly onto the outer clear plastic/glass of the flashlight NOT the bulb itself (that way I won't have to re-paint whenever the bulb burns out and I need a new one). I painted about 3 or 4 coats onto the clear part (after doing the clear "primer" type fixative included with the paint but DO NOT use the black stained-glass paint), and now when my students have colored table teams, I will be able to tell who has shone their flashlight on the correct vocabulary word first and will get the point for their team. It is AWESOME!!!

I wanted to paint a piece that looked like stained glass from a reasonable distance, but could not acheive this result perfectly.

*Liquid leading worked as expected. It helps to hold the tube upright rather than at an angle, and to do continuous lines.

*Paint was VERY thick. Not sure if it had just dried out, or if it is meant to be that way. I would have like something that flowed a little more so I could avoid having brush marks, which really take away from the stained glass look. Used a sponge as an applicator to make it less obvious, but I still wasn't happy with the result. This is the primary problem with the product, and otherwise it would have gotten 5 stars. Besides the brush stroke problem, the thickness made it difficult to get the color on evenly, so some areas are more translucent than others.

*I guess the result wasn't too bad for my first try, and I think this method still has potential with maybe some of the paint thinner.

*The amount of paint in the paint pots is probably good for expeirmenting, but not enough to cover a substantial area. My project was about 6"X10", and I used at least half of the green and the yellow paint.

I purchased this product for a Wine Glass project I was working on. This paint was like jello. It would not mixed or even go on the brush. Not happy with this at all. I should return it, so you can see what I mean. No way to paint with this. I'm sure it would cost me more to return it. I can say this is the first time I have been unhappy with my purchased from Amazon.

This was an inexpensive set with no reviews, but I wanted to try it because of the large range of hardness/softness which was more satisfying than a lot of the other sets I've tried. At first I was nervous because of how lightweight they felt, but there was no reason to be. In fact, the weightless feel really helped during long drawing sessions in cutting down fatigue.

They came sharpened by blade, but I prefer the smoothness of a sharpener. They lost very little wood and graphite from sharpening. They all came to sharp, generous points and I was able to get a large amount of drawing mileage out of the points before I had to sharpen. They draw beautifully and very smooth. The B's are very dark and bold, and each shade is clearly distinctive.

I recommend this set if you have a light touch. 3H/2H applies perfectly with a gentle hand and you can get a wide range of beautiful values with just H pencils. However, getting darker values from H pencils are harder to erase. The Bs, when not laid too heavily, are surprising easy to erase.

I love this set, I love the value and will definitely buy again when I wear these out. Perfect for beginners who want to experiment with a wider range of values and also pros who go through lots and lots of pencils for their sketchbooks.

Other set do not include 9B, and I need a replacement for my other set that is running out. Perfect in a little case. Normally I take the pencils out of the case, but this fits in my pencil container.
