I could not get the Sotar 20/20 to perform. I called Badger Airbrush Co. in Franklin Park, IL. I spoke with a lady named Joann. She suggested that I send her the brush. I did and was positively surprised at the GREAT service and cooperation that I received by dealing with Joann. I now am pleased with the airbrush. I have never received more pleasant and satisfying service than I did by dealing with Badger's LADY JOANN. She epitomizes what customer service is and should be.

This is my third airbrush that I have purchased; the other two being an Iwata Revolution and Badger Velocity. I have been airbrushing for about 10 years now and can safely say this is one of the finest tools I have bought, especially at Amazon's 80$ price point.

I use this brush for painting Warmachine models and it does an amazing job and atomizes paint the best out of my other two brushes. I would recommend if you are using a lot of one specific color that the gravity cup is on the small side. However, this is excellent for detailed work like OSL. The trigger pull on it is smooth. The lock out function on the rear of the brush is awesome. This allows you to lock in a stroke range which allows you consistent range of control.

If you paint TMM (true metal metalics) do not use this brush. The needle diameter is too small and will clog up very easily. I would recommend a .5mm needle or larger.

Over the last few years, I have traded up from my Badger Anthem, to a Badger Patriot 105, and then a Badger Krome airbrush for painting my 1/35th scale model armor. I love all three, but never was able to develop the skill to free hand camouflage patterns reliably with my Krome. After seeing several youtube wideos, I decided to try the Badger Sotar 2020-2F when it was available on Amazon for a price ($69.89) less than I had paid for either of my Patriots or my Krome. As soon as I took it out of the box, I was hooked. It is much lighter and shorter than my Krome and feels like a pen in my hands and, just like a pen, I was easily able to sketch in patterns. After about 20 minutes of practice, I took on a three color schemed Syrian T-55 which turned out perfectly. I was amazed and very pleased. The lighter weight and the shorter nose of the Sotar compared to my Krome allowed me to use the full potential this fine instrument offered. The trigger movement is silky smooth and the small cup is perfect for what I need it to hold. The needle is very sharp and I would recommend using the included forked spray regulator to protect it from getting too close to the model surface. For protection, I also store my Sotar with the needle slightly retracted; a piece of cake with the ability to loosen the chuck and pull the needle back from the rear without removing the handle. It cleans as easily as my Patriots or my Krome.

My only quibbles are the relatively flimsy carboard box that it comes in compared to the standard Badger hard plastic clamshell and the shorter nose may not fit most cleaning pots / airbrush holders so you may need to add an airbrush holder to your work top. Fortunately, the gravity feed airbrush holder on my Badger TC 910 compressor works fine.

I highly recommend the Sotar 2020-F to any scale modeller looking for a superb detail airbrush at a stunningly low price.

The price was awesome, and the brush itself came to me in perfect shape. My only complaint is that it came in some cheap cardboard giftbox, instead of the hinged protective cases I am used to seeing badger brushes come in. That is minor though as my airbrushes are often on hangers and not in their cases, so its one of those no biggie things.
