I actually have a few sets of these. I love this set because it's got all the sizes I use most often. I use the Es and Fs with worsted weight to make amigurumi. The G-H-I with worsted weight for scarves and hats, the K with bulkier weights for scarves and afghans and the D and sometimes E with light worsted or fashion yarns for accessories.
A lot of people prefer inline heads like the Susan Bates Silvalume Crochet Hook Set in Pouchhooks have, but I prefer the classic hook/shaft of these. It's what I learned on. The size does run a little big compared to the Susan Bates hook sizes.
The light aluminum can warp if you mistreat it or drop one so it gets stepped on, but with care, these lightweight hooks will last a lifetime. The reason I have a few sets is because I work on a few projects at a time.
Very colorful and smooth and easy to work with.

I love how the measurements and letters are printed on them. The colors and amazing. The hook, it's tips and grips are retro and easy to crochet with.
I've dropped mines many times and the paint does not scrap off. Although excess use of the tip can take some paint off.

Product works very nicely, smoothly finished with nice bright colors. Hooks aren't very heavy and are easy to use.Honest reviews on Boye Aluminum Crochet Hook Set
I've been crocheting since I was big enough to hold a crochet hook, but let me tell youyou wouldn't know it if you saw some of the work I've done with these needles. The rounded head makes it difficult to go through stitches as well as pick them up, and it splits all but the very best yarn. And if your stitches tend to be tight; forget about it! There is no way you will be able to fit the needle back through. I vastly prefer Bates; the flatter head is much easier to use!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Boye Aluminum Crochet Hook Set
I have crocheted over 40 years and I had to replace all of my crochet hooks. Someone stole all of them. I always bought Boye over the years. I would not recommend this brand any longer. This is not the Boye that used to give us an A-1 quality product. The D hook was bent when I received it. It is such a weak aluminum I can see how they would bend. Bending seemed to be a complaint in a few other reviews. These don't have an excellent hook on the end that the Boye of years ago had. I can see where a pattern that calls for a double thread might end up being an issue.Don't be fooled by the comment in their description. "Founded in 1906, Boye Needle Company was the first American manufacturer of crochet hooks and knitting needles." That is just a fluff statement and means nothing. This is a cheap China product.
