This set was a lot cheaper than comparable ones, which makes sense. There are 2 issues I don't particularly appreciate with these spools.

1. They unravel from the spool easily, so you have to be careful, and even if you're careful, they can still be unraveled instantly which is wasteful.

2. There's no slit on the spool like with regular thread to hold the loose end. I easily fixed that with a knife, but I'd rather not have to do that.

Overall I think it was still a great value because of the wide assortment of colors, and the colors are very vibrant and beautiful. I believe I would have still purchased them despite the two drawbacks I mentioned.

I agree with another reviewer in that the spools used on these threads are awful. Several of mine kept falling apart, with the ring at the bottom detaching and falling off mid-project.

The thread itself wasn't the greatest, either. I found that it not only unravelled very easily from the spools, causing a lot of tangled waste, but the thread also gave off a lot of lint, causing congestion in the needle and resulting in more breakage than normal. In addition, the color assortment shown varied greatly from that which ultimately ended up in my collection. I received about 9 varying shades of red, yet only 2 greens 1 very pale and 1 so dark it appears almost black, and only 1 shade of yellow. Also missing were standard colors like orange, olive green, silver, gold, and navy.

Oh well, I tried my hand at getting a bargain for a change, since embroidery threads are somewhat expensive. They say "you get what you pay for". This is one of those examples. So now I'll know for next time.

This is by far the best thread set I've owned for the given price. I really love the variety and brightness of the colors. They are durable high quality threads. I highly recommend these.

what a bummer! it jammed in my embroidery machine (i have a bernina) and totally had to get serviced after. Wish it had worked, however, I can use this in my regular sewing machine so there is that.

Very small spool and the thread is not shiny like polyester. I can break thread by pulling using bare fingers. Next time I will buy made in USA instead.
