I bought this particular easel for its versatility. Adjustable heights, usable as a table top easel, and the drawer/carrying case/strap was a plus. But about 2 weeks into using the easel, keeping it standing at its full height, with stuff in the drawer, I
noticed it leaning a bit. It seems the back leg wasn't screwed in straight enough and now it's weakening. So I can only use
it as a table top easel.. which is fine.. at least it's usable in some way, and the the range of adjustability for canvas placement
is really good. I'm still getting a lot of use out of it and don't regret my choice.

Problems:1. *Not* brass hardware. I tested it with a magnet.
2. My easel was missing a screw, so I had to go to the hardware store to replace it.
Overall:
It's a solid easel for the price. I would give it 3.5 stars, but since it's falsely advertised with "brass" hardware, I bumped it down to a 3. The drawer is good for holding brushes, drawing devices, and 2 oz paint tubes. 5 oz paint tubes fit, but they take up most of the space. The legs and other joints do not extend with ease, but if you take your time they work fine.

The essel is ok. Does it's job for the most part but a few quirks. It's very hard to get it straight. I physically have to push it to the side while tightening just to get it almost level. And the legs are hard to tighten too. I thought I had them good and tight. But an hour into painting one leg had loosened and slipped a few inches. Oh and the upper clampy deal has a pretty big crack in it. That all said 65 bucks verses a couple hundred for a nice one. Anyone who says that setting this thing up is "self-explanatory" must be in Mensa. There are no instructions and, contrary to what others have written, the photo doesn't help that much. I think I'm a fairly intelligent person, and it took me a good 20 minutes (lots of trial and error) to figure it out -and I'm still not sure I did it correctly. I definitely can't imagine taking it down and setting it up again, so the "portability" factor, in my opinion, is a bit of a misnomer. Maybe after we do it a few times (assuming I can muster the fortitude to even try), it might get easier.As for the quality, it seems a bit rickety. Only time will tell how it will stand up to the abuse of my 10-year-old.
Depending of the commitment/seriousness of your artist, I'd recommend spending a little more and getting something that will not deter you from your craft due to the hassle required just to get ready to paint.
Some instructions would've gone a long way. I think I'm being generous with two stars.
